One of the biggest department store in Osaka, which has just about everything you are looking for (even things you didn’t know you need). 4. Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street

5. Namba Yasaka Shrine
Located in the heart of Namba, Osaka’s lively entertainment district, the shrine is home to the area’s guardian deity and is known for its lion’s head enclosing an entrance stage. The lion’s mouth is said to gobble up evil spirits and bring good luck. With its galore of cafes, galleries and shops, Amerikamura has been the centre of American-inspired youth culture in Osaka for decades. 8. Hozenji Yokocho
There are over 60 tiny traditional Japanese restaurants and bars in this stone-paved narrow little alleyway. Enjoy the serene quietness that contrasts with the bustling atmosphere of nearby Dotonbori while indulging on all the delicacies Osaka can offer.  Look for the statue of Fudomyoo, the deity worshipped at Hozenji Buddhist temple, completely covered in moss and surrounded by visitors pouring water over it in return for its blessings. 9. Dotombori

We had a phenomenal time with Maria, trying new foods, seeing great sights, and just a bunch of laughs.

Before the tour we really didn’t know how to use the trains to well but Maria also showed us that!

We got to check out sights like the rainbow bridge, Osaka castle (and its adjacent museum), the street markets in Namba for food, the donburi markets for shopping, and most importantly a local conveyer sushi joint!

She went above and beyond to make sure we got to do the things we wanted and not just what was registered on the itinerary prior to arriving that day.

All in all there wasn’t a dull moment to the day, and Maria was more than helpful, attentive, knowledgeable, and kind.. she was very patient with us too lol

Maria was an excellent guide. She is knowledgeable about the many places we visited and was flexible to entertain some of our ideas. We now have a base of knowledge that will allow us to explore the city on our own. It was a great way to get the "lay of the land".

We had Lay as our tour guide for 4 hours. She spoke English and made our tour so much easier. We customized our sites based on what we wanted to see with her recommendations. We went to Osaka castle, seafood street market, and shopping district. We were able to ask her several questions on history sites including local living and how to get around in general . She was very helpful and even gave us a tip on how to easily get to the airport.

What a great experience!!! Maria is very personable and knowledgeable. We spent a fun day in Osaka visiting various points of interest and gaining knowledge in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The entire experience was smooth and it was clear that Maria gave thought to the planning of our day. Maria also consulted with us regarding what places we have already seen and custom-tailored our day to our individual experiences. I would highly recommend Maria and her tour.

Maria was the best tour guide we had in all of Japan. She was able to keep our teenage boys interested - and fed! We saw some off the beaten path sites as well as the top hits of Osaka. We had a major delay with the subway - though which Maria was able to pivot and reorganize our itinerary to ensure we still saw the sites in a different order. We’ve learned through so many tours that having a guide quick on their feet is simply the best guide. Request Maria and you’ll be in great hands!

We had a great time on this tour of Osaka. Our guide, Tom, was very engaging, friendly, and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Japan and Osaka from his interesting and unique perspective. He introduced us to some typical and delicious Osaka dishes, which everyone enjoyed. Be prepared to walk a lot, wear comfy shoes!
