This tour will take you from Seoul to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) that is a very unique, educational and contemporary historical place.

Also if you choose full day tour, you will visit Gloucester Hill Battle Memorial and Gamaksan Suspension Bridge where was fierce battle field during Korean War and now turned to beautiful places where you can see beauty of Korea nature at the top.

At the Imjingak Park, the vehicle takes you to the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel. After seeing the 3rd Tunnel, you will watch a brief film at the DMZ Exhibition Hall to get more information on the Korean Peninsula.

Then you will move to the Dora Observatory to see North Korea over telescope.

You will pass the Unification Village, on the way to go back to the entrance then go to Gloucester Hill & Gamaksan Suspension Bridge.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. DMZ
The DMZ is a unique area where you can observe one country being divided into two. With this tour, you will visit the 3rd Tunnel, DMZ Exhibition hall, Dora observatory and Unification village. Experience the tension but hope for peace in Korea and learn about their history and future.
2. Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park
You can see the Freedom Bridge, Monument of Soldiers, Bell of Peace and an old steam locomotive that shows the extremity of the tragedy that was the Korean War.
3. The Third Tunnel
North Korean Army built to infiltrate South Korea in 1970s. You will walk down to the tunnel (about 500m) wearing a safety helmet. After tunnel, you will have some time to look around the DMZ Exhibition Hall which shows the Korean War, old weapons and you can watch a short film about Korea's history and other information of Korea.
4. Dora Observatory
The highlight spot in DMZ is Dora Observatory where you can see North Korea’s propaganda village through onsite telescopes.

[Option 1] - Hill 235 Hill 235, where the 1st Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment (the Glorious Glosters) was ordered to "Hold on where you are", is remembered as "Gloster Hill". The memorial stands at the foot of Gloucester Hill beside the Seolmacheon stream. There is a memorial garden on the east side of the stream containing a large sculpture of the Gloucester's beret, a set of life sized Gloucester soldiers patrolling away from the Imjin River and a memorial wall. The stream is crossed by Gloucester Bridge and a path leads round to a flight of steps that takes you to the memorial stones set into a wall built into the side of the hill. Four plaques on the original memorial still show the crest of the United Nations, the badges of the Gloucestershire Regiment and of the Royal Artillery This is a popular park for local Koreans. According to Lee In-jae, the mayor of Paju who raised money among local citizens to expand the park, "Freedom is not free – it is earned with blood".
6. Gamaksan Chulleong Bridge
[Option 1] -Gamaksan Suspension Bridge 1.7 kilometers away from the Gloucester Hill Memorial is a rope bridge known as The Gloucester Heroes Bridge. The insignia of the regiment is also on a marble effect wall towards the beginning/end of the bridge, depending on which side the walk is started. It is one of longest suspension bridge of Korea with 180 meter length. It was fierce battle field during Korean War. After short hiking (15min), you will reach to the great view point at the mountain Gamaksan which is in the list Gamaksan is in the list of BEST 100 Mountains in Korea, rises 675 meters above sea level and is oft described as the ‘closest mountain to the DMZ’ but it is probably the most popular one to hike near the DMZ. Gamaksan is close to the ceasefire line so, once you climb up to the peak, you will be able to see the Imjingang River and Songaksan Mountain in Gaesong.

• The itinerary can be changed by military control
• In case of heavy rain, snow or security control, Suspension bridge can be closed. Instead, you will visit Odusan Unification Observatorry or Majang Lake Suspension Bridge.
• The tour starts in time at every meeting point. Please be ready in 10 minutes before.

Brian our tour guide was very informed and gave a great and detailed historical tour. Had good humour and always made us feel comfortable. Good value for a 10 hour day with a good amount of exercise

Mr Young, our tour guide, is a maestro of history and humor, making our day trip both enlightening and entertaining.

From the moment we set off, his lively anecdotes and witty remarks transformed mundane historical facts into captivating stories. Mr Young's deep knowledge of the region's past, paired with his knack for comedic timing, kept us engaged and chuckling throughout the day.

The itinerary was meticulously planned, ensuring we made the most of our time. Each stop was perfectly timed, allowing us to soak in the sights without feeling rushed.

We visited historic landmarks, each brought to life by Mr Young’s vivid storytelling, and his playful jokes made learning a joy rather than a chore.

However, the tour required quite a bit of physical exertion. There were thousands of steps to climb and several uphill paths to navigate. While the views were rewarding, this aspect of the tour might pose a challenge for the elderly or those with knee problems. Despite this, the day was immensely fruitful and memorable, thanks largely to Mr Young’s exceptional guidance. His ability to blend historical insight with humor made the trip a delightful experience for all who could keep up with the pace.
