I especially enjoyed walking through the city and the vegetable market. Our guide was wonderful she loved her city and shared her enthusiasm with all of us.

This was such a fun activity to do in San Jose. We found it somewhat difficult to explore on our own since this isn’t a traditional city type of environment so having a guide show us around was really the way to go. Daniel was a superstar and very informative. The tour not only included historical information but bites along the way ending with some tasty local foods. Although you are walking the majority of the time, San Jose has a relatively small city center so it really wasn’t too bad. One of the best parts is that the tour takes you to some hotspots around the city and even though you don’t spend a lot of time there, it’s good info to have so you can come back on your own time. Overall, I would say this tour was definitely worth your time and money!

We loved the mix of history and culinary experience. Getting to try so many incredible fruits in the Mercado Borbón was a highlight, as was the delicious and unusual flavor of the 'milk sorbet' at Lolo Mora in the Mercado Central--a must-try! Ending with a sit down meal of tamales, and making our own plantain 'dough' and cheese empanadas--with truly some of the best coffee I've ever had--was an excellent finale.

I enjoyed tasting the different fruits in the market and getting a tour around the city. I also liked making my own empanada.

Great way to learn some history of San Jose and taste some local fruits that you don’t find in America. Our your guide was very nice. If you enjoy coffee, this would be a good tour for you as well. We stopped at a little coffee shop to taste some coffee and make empanadas

The food was the best part. Tasty ice cream, fruit, and delicious empanadas and tamales. Very kind guide. However San Jose was very dirty and scary. Don’t recommend for families with small children. Don’t recommend for pregnant women. The smell was terrible.

For female solo travelers - please ask for an additional form of contact when booking with this group as they will not check the chats in the app.

I was running late and I messaged the tour guide through the app so they would be aware that I was coming. Before the event they sent me a picture of green men sculptures and I understood that as the place where we were meant to meet. I get to that spot a few minutes before 3:10PM (which was their cut off point) and I see a group there and I introduce myself and tell the guide I’m here for the tour. Then we start walking.

About 20 minutes into this tour, the guide tells me goodbye and that his group was leaving for the next segment of the tour. I took my phone out and showed him my reservation and he said he already knew I wasn’t part of the group. So why take me along when I said I was here for a tour? He called the correct tour group and left a voicemail. He then told me that I had to stay put because it was highly possible that I could get kidnapped in that area.

I sent an email to this tour group and continued to call them until they answered. The man said there was nothing that he could do and that I should try and find them myself. I said no I would not do that because I was already warned that this was not a safe place for me and asked if they could send somebody for me, he said no.They eventually sent me the information to my email but I had already left since I did not feel safe.

Nowhere did it say that they would not be checking the messages in the app. This is not my first time using the app and I have never ran into a safety issue like this.

Yes I should have asked more questions to the wrong tour guide but why did he take me along? If the correct tour guide would have checked my messages and responded to them this could have been avoided.

The tour was really fun. The tour guide took us to several cool eateries. At the end of the tour, we had dinnred at this very nice restaurant and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend this tour
