This is a great experience to learn more about middle-class life in an Indian family, and to learn about Indian culture and Hinduism. I would highly recommend it to everyone. The hosts were extremely welcoming, hospitable and friendly and really went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Don't worry about feeling awkward or having a hard time making conversation, the hosts are excellent at keeping the conversation moving. You'll be invited into the kitchen to help prepare the meal if you like. Often, multiple guests are booked in the same experience, so it is likely that you will meet other guests from other parts of the world during dinner.

This beautiful family invited me into their home. Very clean. I traveled solo and it felt very safe in case anyone is traveling alone. Good was awesome.

This experience with Nidhi and Roopak was amazing! It was an incredible way to dive into Indian culture. I learned so much from the cooking, dancing, painting, Hindi lessons and so much more. I loved seeing the temple in their home and hearing Roopak sing a mantra. Nidhi and Roopak really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and were amazing about answering all of my questions about Hinduism and India. I would definitely recommend this experience!!!

What an amazing experience!! Indian culture dictates that guests are treated like God an indeed I was!! Roopak & Nidhi are the most gracious and generous people. To be welcomed into their home is a blessing - and then there’s the food. FRESH and DELICIOUS. It’s soooo tasty, so healthy and so lovingly prepared. 10/10 for this experience! 😃

We booked the experience with Nidhi and Roopak for 2 people traveling from Germany. Some days before the start they already showed their expertise in communicating to us. We got a lot of useful information about the different religions of India, must do sightseeing, a very good description how to find the building, and much more. Roopak was very accurate and responsive in the communication which is very much needed when you are a first time traveler to India. We even got the chance to visit them earlier as planned, because our flight arrived in the morning and it would have cost too much time to go to the hotel first and after checking in to Roopak. That helped a lot. We were able to ask all kinds of questions as both are open minded and very interested in other cultures. They teached us some Indian words and played a quiz with us (which we didn't pass) :-)
During the experience, they gave us background to various aspects of life in India. After a very warm welcome we had the chance to cook together with Nidhi a very tasty Chai and a delicious meal.
This experience is probably the best way to start exploring India and definitely highly recommend. You'll come as a foreigner and leave as a friend with a new home in Delhi.
If you want to explore something special, we would say start with those nice people. They will help you with anything you need. And they offer some interesting add ons like wearing a Sari, painting Henna and some other stuff.

Visiting Roopak and Nidhi’s house for cooking experience was the best thing we could do in Delhi. We cooked together very delicious Indian food and had a conversation about Hinduism, modern life in India and many other topics. Highly recommend this experience :)

This is something totally different to what you are used or you expect from a tour. They welcomed us with some chai and water, we cooked together a curry and he explained us details of the hindi culture. It is worth the visit. I was wondering to cancel it because of long distance to the city but now I am happy that I did no. Namaste

Nice experience to meet a local family and deeply explore the traditions, the food, etc and also to have a humble daily common talk with them. An open conversation where we brought our questions, doubts and also they explain us a lot of interesting things. We helped a bit also to prepare the delhi-cious dinner. They are open to take as many photos as you want.
Consider taking a cab to arrive, 1h + approx from old delhi.
Definitely a really valuable experience and Roopak's family also pay attention to the details,from the warm welcome to a very comfortable session of conversation with amenities and everything we could need!
