Excellent tour of the beautiful city! Our guide, Oscar, was the best. He was very knowledgeable and gave us insight into the city’s people, politics, artists, and drug lords. We learned so much, and had a fantastic time exploring the best parts of Medellin. Highly recommend!

We took the private Medellin City, Pueblito Paisa and Pablo Escobar Tour in early September 2018 to cover some of the highlights of Medellin as well as the story of Pablo Escobar, who had such a great influence on the recent history of the city.
We were picked up on time by our young but very knowledgeable guide Pedro and our fantastic driver in a comfortable van. We went first to take a ride with the spectacular cable car in Santo Domingo up to the Spanish Library, which unfortunately is closed due to structural problems. We saw the community over which Escobar had great influence. The views from the cable car are spectacular. We took the modern Metro to Downtown and visited there different points of interest, including the Cathedral and Plaza Botero. Afterwards we went to Pueblito Paisa, had a great lunch and enjoyed the great views over the city. The rest of the tour was about Pablo Escobar, visiting the house he was shot, the cemetery with his grave and that of other family members and his house, which we had a chance to see two weeks before it’s destruction.
Altogether it was an extremely satisfying tour which we can only highly recommend.
Many thanks to Pedro for all his explanations and stories about the city and Escobar, we definitely learned a lot of new information. The right way to get to know this fascinating city.

I had been looking for tours all over TripAdvisor. I really wanted to do a city tour but I noticed that some of them didn't cover some areas that I wanted to go to, such as Pueblito Paisa. My husband was very interested in doing a Pablo Escobar tour. We were about to pay for two separate tours until I found this deal with Medellin Travels. It covered everything we wanted to see at a good price.
The tour usually starts at 9 a.m. but after communicating with Lina through their Facebook page (who was always polite and quick to respond) she made the exception of starting at 1 p.m. because I thought we wouldn't be ready until that time. (We had just arrived to Medellin but wanted to do the tour on that same day). We were ready around 11 a.m. so I let Lina know. Due to the traffic near our hotel it was taking a while for our guide Oscar to get there after I had contacted Lina. (Not their fault, I was the one who thought we wouldn't be ready until later) What really impressed me was that Lina took the time to personally go meet us at our hotel to let us know that Oscar would be there in a few minutes. It was very professional on her part.
Oscar was friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable. He explained how the city works and the development it has had in the last few years. We went to all of the places described. The tour was so detailed that the next day we didn't even know what to do or where to go because it felt like we had already done everything! It is a great way to go to Medellin and not feel like you're missing out on something. Would recommend to whoever goes to Medellin- especially if you are only there for a few days.

Lina with Medellin Travels was the best guide I could have asked for. She took me to all the sites on the tour, and shared with me what the city is really like for its residents, along with important history and insights. It felt like an outing with a dear friend. I especially liked the trip up the MetroCable and a typical hillside neighborhood. Thank you, Lina. You're the best!

Bring a note pad and pen. Better yet bring a recorder. The amount of information Alex gives you regarding the Escobar years as well as personal family experience is more than one can remember. He has exact details on names, dates, who is who, who did what, etc. His English skills are excellent so you don't need to worry about a strong accent and not being able to understand. The travel accommodations he provides are very comfortable, convenient, roomy, and relaxing. Alex knows the layout of the city and how to quickly move around. He is also good at providing in-depth background on the Escobar topics for a more complete understand of the history. Good job, Alex. Thank you
