Dedicated to the victims of The Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 that decimated The Florida Keys and Overseas Railroad
5. Dolphin Research Center
This is an optional add-on. If you love dolphins and have thought about swimming with them, now's your chance! This is home to some of "Flipper" the dolphin's descendants! Admission is NOT included in tour cost.
6. The Turtle Hospital
This is an optional add-on. If you'd like to tour the Turtle Hospital, you must make advanced reservations with them. Admission is NOT included in tour cost.
7. Seven Mile Bridge
The longest bridge in The Keys, as well as the State of Florida. It's the longest, and best preserved portion of what was once the Overseas Railroad.
8. National Key Deer Refuge
We will try and catch a glimpse of our unique and indigenous tiny Key Deer.
9. No Name Key
No Name Pub is a great spot for lunch or just a beer!
10. Blue Hole
The Key Deer's main fresh water source and home to a couple of resident gators!
11. Fort East Martello Museum
"While Key West remained a Union-controlled island during the Civil War, the majority of Key West citizens supported the Confederacy. With such a rift, it is perhaps surprising that no battles took place on or around the island. Having no use for the Fort once the war was drawing to a close, Fort East Martello was abandoned in its unfinished state by the Army. In 1950, the Key West Art & Historical Society, with its own army of volunteers, cleared away years of debris and dust to open Fort East Martello as its first museum. With continued community support, the Society restored this national landmark in accordance with its original 1860s design. Today, visitors can explore the preserved battlement’s collection of relics from the Civil War, learn about the wrecking and cigar-manufacturing industries which shaped the Florida Keys, view the imaginative metal sculptures of Stanley Papio, as well as meet the Ghosts of East Martello, including the infamous Robert the Doll."
12. West Martello Tower
"The Key West Garden Club at West Martello Tower is a tropical garden paradise by the sea on the site of a former Civil War fort. It has garden rooms to delight you, history to intrigue you, and the beach and sea to inspire you. Open to the public, it is maintained by member-volunteers of the Garden Club. It is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide the community with educational opportunities related to tropical gardening and to the West Martello Tower, a National Historic site where the Club is located."
