The whale season only occurs once a year, in the winter time. For this reason it is important that tourists who are in the country at this time of winter, can take advantage of this opportunity.
It is quite a spectacle to observe these mammals jumping and jumping in the great bay of Samaná, as well as enjoying the beautiful beach located in Cayo Levantado, which is one of the most beautiful located on the Atlantic coast, in the Northeast area of Dominican Republic.
After enjoying whale watching, and amolzar, then begins our tour of the Samana peninsula to observe a whole town full of culture, and appreciate the beautiful mountains of Samana, until we reach the lemon town, where we will begin a ride on horseback , to reach the spectacular lemon waterfall. It is the most complete activity that you can choose, since it contains, sea, river, and a small safari.

This trip was advertised as a 12 hr day but is more like a 15hr day. There is a lot of time spent in transport. We did see whales so that was good. The horse ride was good but we were strongly encouraged to tip the young horse guides only to find out the tour company takes their tips and only gives them a small percentage-we felt scammed. Through out the whole day there was no one that spoke giving background knowledge, history or explanation for anything. Just go here do that and be back at the boat. We were given lunch around 1:00 and then the next chance to eat was at 9:15 when we where dropped off at our resort. Would not do this tour again.

It was amazing to see the whales in their own environment. The waterfall was nice. The tour was exactly the way it was described.
