Nestled in the heart of the Sierra Madre Mountains, San Sebastian's remote location and historic appeal have made it one of Mexico's last great getaways. As the road weaves through the mountains, you'll enjoy fantastic scenery and typical scenes of rural Mexican life, making this journey both breathtaking and relaxing.

First off, I know Vallarta Adventures does not pick you up from your hotel but taking a taxi was a breeze, especially if you’re in the hotel zone. Check in was easy. The excursion itself was wonderful! Our tour guide was Daniel and driver was Omar. Daniel was so fun and knowledgeable. Every time someone in our group asked a question, he had an answer. Omar was also a very safe driver - given you are in MX and different driving laws versus the US. We stopped by to look at the blue agave (tequila) plants. You also stop for restroom breaks at a distillery, that you visit on the way back for a quick tequila tasting. We stopped at a coffee house about an hour into the drive. Once you get into San Sebastián, you your the museum, have lunch, and then have some free time to look at the shops. Overall, I highly recommend. It was worth the price for me and the food was great! You can also ask for water or drinks during your trip as it is included with your trip, however they come in plastic cups and are not served in a can.

This tour was the highlight of our Mexico trip! Danny was an excellent, patient and friendly guide who answered our many questions, showed us the sights on the way to the town and shared interesting information about the region, geography, plants etc. The coffee farm was great. Being in San Sebastián was like stepping back in time and the history was fascinating. We enjoyed the generous and tasty lunch.
Thank you to Danny as well as his uncle who was an excellent driver.

From Puerto Vallarta we took an air conditioned van to San Sebastián and with a wonderfully guided ride, learned so much of this beautiful countryside en route. We visited blue agave plantations and a coffee plantation, before arriving in San Sebastián. Our guide, Jesa, was so well-informed, funny, smart and kind. Fabulous!! Our driver, Omar, was courteous and safe.

I went on a tour through Vallarta adventures to visit the over 400-year-old town of San Sebastian. Fernanda, our tour guide was fantastic and Omar was a wonderful driver. It’s over two hours to get up in the mountains to this town. We sampled some organic locally grown coffee that was a descendent of One of the original families settling the town. Got served a delicious lunch. We went through the museum, which is also run by descendants of the original Spaniard families. Learned so much history about the area. We stopped in agave fields, and told the difference in between the green and the blue agave and did some tequila tasting. It was a very interesting day and I learned a lot.

Excellent tour. It’s a whole day affair, you leave at 8:30 and get back at around 3:30. Our tour guide Danny and bus driver Fernando were an excellent duo. Daniel was extremely funny and knowledgeable when it comes to the plant Tequila! I think he said he had a degree in plant biology. The town itself is a rustic charm, and you feel transported back into the 1800s. Really nice. Tequila tasting was good and they had fair prices when it came to purchasing. Highly recommend this trip was literally perfect
