Fantastic from the very beginning. Communication was fast. I got picked up from my accomodation right in the middle of the time frame they had given me. Lovely family run stable. Horses were obviously cared for. Guides were fantastic. I am very much a beginner and had an absolute blast. Highly recommend.

I had such a good time on my first ride in an Icelandic horse! Tour operators were very knowledgeable & provided helmets & coveralls (which I highly recommend). The horses provided were well suited to each member of the tour & the ride itself was through some amazing scenery.

I had a fantastic time with this experience. Horses were super nice, gentle, and just mesmerizing. The guides were very attentive and helpful to keep everyone safe as well as comfortable throughout the riding. I would love to come back to this beautiful family farm in the near future.

Even in the rain, this was a memorable experience. This is a family operation, and the owner was a great host, willing to share some fun stories with us. Horses are beautiful and friendly. Guides were nice, patient and certainly know the horses. So glad we didn’t miss this!

What a fabulous experience! From the cheery on time pickup to the very friendly staff at the farm who kitted everyone out with weatherproof clothing and safety helmets, we were paired up with a suitable horse. These small sturdy horses were all beautifully well-behaved, willing and responsive, and a joy to ride. My husband and I spent two wonderful hours riding through countryside, crossing through rivers lined with wild lupins and other spring flowers. If you have time in Reykjavík, don’t miss this fantastic experience - you won’t be disappointed!

I am a pure animal lover and I have owned horses the majority of my life but riding Icelandic horses is a whole new level of pure tranquility and happiness. I loved it!
The horses are so loved and well cared for and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. They’re happy to show you all the photos on the wall and answer any questions you have. You are picked up and dropped back off to the nearest stop to your accommodation and taken to the farm where you will be greeted and kitted up with the necessary riding gear. The horses are tacked up ready for you to meet and the guide joins you on the ride. They have a friendly chat along the way and show you the beautiful tracks of Iceland, the views are stunning.
I’d recommend this to anyone, even if you don’t have horse experience. You’ll love it!

Highlight of Iceland if you want to experience these wonderful horses. The family and farm are truly wonderful. The hotel pick up option worked out perfectly. Thanks for ending my trip in a high note.

I absolutely loved my horseback riding experience with Laxnes. They helped me find the correct sized helmet, as well as made sure I was warm by picking out a jumpsuit and an extra sweater for me to wear. I could feel that the family cares for their visitors and wants to make sure we are comfortable with our horses and are going to have a positive experience. Even though we had a small group, we had two guides who routinely checked on us. At the end of our ride we were treated to cake and a hot beverage. The horses were all beautiful, happy, and well taken care of.
I just can’t compliment the family enough, they were all absolutely delightful and kind.

This was a great excursion. The folks from Laxnes Farms picked us up a couple of blocks from our hotel and drove us out to their farm (about a half an hour’s drive from Reykjavik).
The farm is located on 1,100 acres of Icelandic countryside. The horses are well-taken care of, healthy, content, and even tempered. The horseback ride is perfect for experts and beginners alike.
Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I wish I could have ridden all day!!
