1. Banyan Drive
Drive through quaint Hilo Town along magnificent Banyan tree-lined streets along Hilo's coastline known as the "Hilo Walk of Fame".
2. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Home to Hawaii's active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa.
3. Chain of Craters Road
Chain of Craters Road is a 19-mile (31 km) long winding paved road through the East Rift and coastal area of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the island of Hawaii. Some areas are inaccessible.
4. Kilauea
Active shield volcano housed in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Last erupted in September 2021 when vents spewed lava from within Halema'uma'u, a pit crater in the volcano's summit caldera.
5. Steam Vents
See and feel the power of the volcano through the steam vents, where ground water seeps into volcanic rock.
6. Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube
Tropical forest area featuring a long, subterranean cave formed by ancient flowing lava.
7. Akaka Falls State Park
Beautiful waterfall, easily viewable from a lookout point and surrounded by a verdant jungle.
8. Hilo
Drive through historic Hilo Town, where tsunamis in 1946 and 1960 caused cataclysmic damage and forced the town to be rebuilt further inland. Today, wooden storefronts remain in the laid-back, town that manages to keep the country vibe alive.
9. Liliuokalani Gardens
Renowned for it's lush Japanese gardens.
10. Rainbow Falls
Witness rainbows forming in the mist at one of Hilo's most magnificent waterfalls.

• Passengers must provide date of birth and gender at the time of booking per TSA requirements

• The interisland airfare may fluctuate based on flight availability. Additional fees may be required to be paid by the customer in these cases.
• Passengers with asthma and other respiratory problems should please consider other tour offerings to avoid potential health problems resulting from exposure to fumes
• Lava sightings not guaranteed
• IMPORTANT: The name you enter at the time of booking must exactly match what appears on your valid government-issued I.D. photo I.D. that you will use during travel. This is a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and FAA requirement and there is no flexibility with this policy. A valid government-issued ID (passport for non-US citizens) is required on the day of travel. If a passenger is denied boarding, there will be no refund.

My family of six, ranging in age from 10-64 years, thoroughly enjoyed this one day tour of the Big Island. Our favorite parts include the phenomenal view of Kīlauea as well as the amazing waterfalls. Our guide, Dexter, was wonderful. He was super kind and very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this tour.

An absolute must do if you've time. Now, keep in mind one can't control the weather. It was cloudy and misting when we visited Kīlauea but we still got some good pictures. Due to seismic activity, we were unable to drive Chain of Craters Road. (I was really hoping for an eruption!)
As the day progressed the weather got better, as is usually the case on the windward side. ʻAkaka Falls, Rainbow Falls, Thurston Lava Tube and many other sites were on the tour. Our tour guide, Dexter, grew up on the island and I truly believe he knew every plant, animal and sight on the island. We really enjoyed our tour that much more with him guiding us. Kudos to Polynesian Adventure for finding Dexter!

Able to fit in a lot of different activities and locations without feeling too rushed. A good mix of entertainment and education. The van was very comfortable with spacious seats and outlets.

We took the Hilo Explorer tour today. Albert was our tour guide today. He was terrific and so knowledgeable about the area. I was traveling with my mother in law who was in a walker and helped us feel so comfortable. Aloha Albert! Mahalo!!
