We had the absolute best walking tour through Santa Teresa with Lorena and it proved to be one of the highlights of our Rio trip. The neighborhood is beautiful and has a fascinating story and history, and Lorena walked and talked us through it all with a wonderful sense of candor and humor. And even when there was a bump in terms of getting the streetcar up at the beginning of the tour due to a situation up in the neighborhood, she was quick to respond and adjust. And when we mentioned we’d already seen one of the attractions on another tour the day before, she was great about coming up with a fun alternative vs just repeating it. Cannot recommend the tour, Santa Teresa and Lorena enough.

We opted for a mystery trip organized by a Belgian agency on the occasion of our tin wedding anniversary (10 years). The agency had organized everything and on the first day we were welcomed by Ivan (the best guide we had on all our trips). He knew how to immerse us directly into the Brazilian atmosphere. A historical tour of the neighborhood where we lived (Santa Terresa), good tips, regional discoveries, nightlife and all that explained in a friendly and relaxed way so that you feel at ease in the tumultuous and resplendent city of rio. We appreciated the discussions because good news for me, he speaks French very well. Having lived there, he knows his area well (small pun intended). Don't hesitate to ask them for little tips and tricks to blend in with the crowd (cariocas) and above all don't hesitate to speak with the locals because they are a caring, kind and attentive population just like our guide... Visiting Rio for the first stage of our honeymoon, we had the chance to meet Ivan who guided us through the neighborhoods of Santa Theresa and Lapa, introduced us to night life to the rhythm of samba and introduced you to the Santa Marta favela with Marco. Punctual, friendly, cultured, professional, always in a good mood and generous in sharing good tips and good addresses, accompanied by Ricardo the driver, we spent unforgettable moments with Ivan. Special mentions for the samba evening, the visit to the Santa Marta favela and the discovery of Getulio and the La Vereda souvenir store. And what can we say about Marco, an exceptional guide for this tour of the favela!! Thank you for what you sent us, we loved it! First of all, a big thank you to Antoine and Jean-René who showed us their city with passion.
We spent the first morning walking the streets of Santa Teresa and Lapa with Antoine. And the afternoon with Jean-René to discover the Santa Marta favela, an unforgettable experience and a totally different vision of life in the favelas.
The next day to end in apotheosis the visit of Christ the Redeemer and the sugar loaf.
I strongly advise all tourists who want to discover Rio de Janeiro to call GOOD GUIDE IN RIO.
In conclusion I would say GOOD GUIDE IN RIO a must in RIO DE JANEIRO.
