Was not looking forward to driving 5.5 hours to and 5.5 hours from Milford Sound, so we selected the Glenorchy Air option - no regrets! Flying in their Cessna 206's among the Southern Alps, we saw incredible scenery that would not have been possible had we driven. We left our hotel at 8:30am and were back in Queenstown at 1:30pm, having taken the Milford Sound cruise. Though the cruise was nice and the scenery outstanding, the highlights of our day were the two flights, especially the return. Our pilot (Ken?, it's been a week) is a pro, with a great sense of humor and excellent commentary. We highly recommend this trip.

We did the VIP Fly/Cruise/Fly experience and it was perfect and amazing from start to end!!! An absolutely amazing afternoon with first, our pilot Colin who took us on our Cessna 206 out towards Milford Sound by way of all the sights. We flew over Glenorchy and saw the rivers, glaciers and many mountain tops while he dodged around the clouds so that we always had a stunning view. When we landed he personally took us on a great nature walk on the way to the port and then helped us get on board the Pride of Milford which is a wonderful boat with a great crew. For our package we had our own seating area right to the starboard of the skipper so it was just great for viewing both indoor and out, plus easy to hear the skippers narration. We had great drinks and food and literally any question we had was answered by our two attendants Tomas and Allen - they were kind and helpful and knew everything. It was perfect weather - which you can't plan for, but we were so thankful to get it. We had layers for hot sun, cold wind and wet waterfall so we were all set - but I'd suggest many layers is the way to go. It's just a breathtaking experience and all made better by this personal touch and private experience. The flight back was even better as some clouds had cleared and we saw so many more glaciers, lakes, rivers and mountain peaks including Mt. Aspiring. Our oldest daughter (college age) is not big on small planes or boats - but she survived the day and truly if she can do it and even smile, anyone can! I can't recommend this enough - the staff, the professional quality of touring and all the amenities made this a truly magical day!

Unfortunately it got cancelled due to weather and couldn’t be rebooked till after we had left so we missed Milford sound altogether- we got a full refund just disappointing- didn’t know how to rate it

This tour was FANTASTIC! I’ve been on many Viator experiences on various vacations but this was the best one by far!
Organized, efficient, communicative and friendly staff/crew!
My trip to the South Island was cut short so I decided to pack in the fly-cruise-fly tour option over taking a bus - I’m so glad I did!
Colin, our pilot, was attentive & professional while keeping our group comfortable, safe & at ease. Once couple had their two small sons with them & they were welcomed with no worries - so refreshing to see a tour company provide excitement to children.
The stunning views taken in were exquisite!! Well worth the price for these special memories to last a lifetime!

Most amazing experience we had with Glenorchy Air.
My husband wanted to surprise with my best birthday gift ever. Flying over the snow peaks and most spectacular Southern alps of NZ. Magic pure
The weather was a challenge and Joe and the team made it work. Great communication about weather, options, pick up and drop of at our resort with not having to worry.
Our pilot and guide was amazing, incredible knowledgeable, we felt save at all times. He guided us to the cruise terminal, no question was to hard.
The scenic flight is on our top list now, each time we come back to Queenstown, best experience ever.
There are various operators to choose from so let me guarantee you this is the perfect one, so go with the Glenorchy team!

Scenery from the plane was fantastic
Staff were friendly & helpful and everything ran like clockwork
We had amazing weather which made the day great. Travellers may want to consider the forecast before booking as everything looks better in the sunshine

This trip is definitely one of the highlights of our three weeks in New Zealand. Everyone from the company we met was so helpful and friendly. Seeing the alps from the air is simply breathtaking. Because the plane is so small everyone gets a window seat (I think this is unique to this company as we did sea other plans that seemed to seat 3 ppl in a row and you will want a window seat!)

Fantastic experience on a beautiful clear day. Worth doing. Much better than sitting on coach for hours. Flight was amazing with spectacular views. Thank you Glenorchy Air and to the pilot who gave us commentary during flight. Milfird Sound is beautiful and we saw penguin and seals.

Great experience, just beautiful ? staff were great from the pilot all the way to the drivers returning you to your accommodation. Highly recommend doing the fly back from Milford Sound to QT. Scenery is breathtaking ?
