My guide was Jonas - he was great! and I was joined by 2 other groups (total of 6 people). I loved this excursion. Basel was a nice European town, but didn't really make me feel like I had visited "Switzerland". So I would have felt disappointed if I had just seen Basel and flown back to the US. This one day excursion to Lucerne had the amazing views and mountains that I was expecting to see in Switzerland. Absolutely stunning views of the Swiss Alps! So glad I stayed an extra day and booked this tour!

Ray was an excellent guide. We easily found him at the train station and we spent an entire day exploring Mt Pilates, Lucerne and the lake. The tour was amazing as were the views and the commentary we received from Ray.

The tour content was quite good, the train ride from Basel to Lucerne was very scenic, Mt Pilatus was incredible and the cruise on Lake Lucerne was pleasant. Our guide was inexperienced and seemed a little tentative, not really sharing the overall plan for the tour, lunch etc and could have been more of a story teller. Very nice guy though. Tour is a full day and would recommend.

The evening before the tour, the tour operator changed the departure time from 10:00 am to 9:00 am: we weren’t able to get to the meeting point by 8:45 am. We got to the meeting point at 9:45 (as previously instructed) to learn that that the tour operator canceled our tour. It took many days & emails to get our refund.

Views from the cable car ride were stunned but the view from top of Mt Pilatus was unreal !! Wish we had more time to see Lucerne. Enjoyed the cruise on the Lake, the weather was perfect. The cog wheel train is overcrowded and was unorganized for boarding.

It was a great experience the guide was fantastic. Would recommend this trip for sure. The guide was very knowledgeable about the excursion would have liked to done it on a clear day for sure

We only had a few days to explore Switzerland before boarding a Viking cruise in Basel and wanted to feel like we saw some of the countryside, mountains, and got a sense of this beautiful country. This day trip allowed us to experience it all in a short amount of time. Our guide, Jonas, was great - meeting us at the train station, taking us on the tour of Mt. Pilatus, cruising with us on Lake Lucerne, showing us the highlights of Lucerne and then making sure we got back to Basel safe and sound. As a guide, Jonas is knowledgeable, informative, personal and professional. He was so concerned about ensuring that everyone had a great experience that when we didn't have the greatest view from the top (due to the weather) he happily shared pictures with us of prior trips so we could more clearly see the beauty of this landscape! We enjoyed our tour so much that we booked a private walking tour for the next day. Also - all of our communication with the company (and Lina personally) was very good! Responsive and helpful - we would recommend this company, this tour, and this guide without any hesitation!

Pilatus Kulm is an enjoyable experience for everyone thanks to its hiking paths and several services that the area provide include restaurants , hotel , and picnic spot

Thoroughly enjoyed the guided trip. Train from Basel to Lucerne by train. Bus to the mountain and assent via cable car to the top with plenty of time to climb higher/lunch/chill out. Descent via steepest cog wheel railway in the world (great). Boat trip on Lake Lucerne, which was smooth and scenic. Return journey to Basel via train was cancelled due to an incident on the track. No problem to our great guide Alberto who got us on the train to Zurich and quickly back to Basel. Thoroughly enjoyed our whole trip enhanced by our brilliant guide Alberto. Top notch day trip. Recommended!
