Sightseeiing & wine tour. The perfect tour for cruise ship travelers and tourists staying in the City.
Join Brian or Anita on this fun and exciting tour to the vineyards of Martinborough to taste the regions exquisite wines and also see and stop at places of beauty on our way. We will drive through the Hutt Valley region. We will visit the Lord of the Rings filming site at the Kaitoke Regional Park and walk across the swing bridge.
We stop at the Rimatuka Lookout.
You will enjoy wine tasting at three vineyards and enjoy a platter style lunch at one of the vineyards
You will walk through the historic township of Greytown where the main street is lined with Victorian colonial architecture. The town also has a number of boutique and quirky local stores such as art and craft shops .
Coffee and tea stop at Grand Old Hotel
Visit C'est Cheese in Featherston where you can taste or purchase from an impressive range of unique NZ .

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Martinborough
We will drive to the Martinborough Wine region where we will vist 3 wineries for tasting and also have lunch at one of the venues.
2. Kaitoke Regional Park
Just a short drive from the centre of Wellington is the Kaitoke Regional Park. On our way to the Martinborough vineyards we will drive through the Park The Kaitoke Regional Park was the filming location for Rivendell and the Fords of Isen in the The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. The whole area is distinctly elvish, with light filtering through ancient trees and clear babbling brooks. You'll soon feel the magical tranquillity that surrounded the house of Elrond. The park contains nearly 2500 hectares of mature native forest, including beech, rimu, northern rata, hinau and kamahi. At the popular Pakuratahi Forks, ancient rata and rimu tower over a canopy of kamahi, hinau and miro. The park is also home to rare birds - kaka, yellow-crowned parakeet and a significant number of New Zealand falcon.

The White Swan Hotel is a gorgeous boutique country hotel in the heart of historic Greytown in the Wairarapa. We will stop here for a coffee, hot chocolate or tea on our back to Wellington
9. C'est Cheese
Nestled in Featherston is a sensational shop bursting with specialty cheeses and an extensive range of gourmet Wairarapa food. This is the place to taste, find and indulge in an impressive selection of unique NZ cheeses including locally made award winning Kingsmeade and Cwmglyn cheeses.

Fantastic trip out well hosted by Brian. Three beautiful vineyards in scenic countryside, delicious wines and lunch, picturesque drive out too. Wonderful way to spend a day!

Our group was a nice small size. The variety of wineries was perfect. The lunch with cheese/snack platter was varied and creative. We would do it all over again.

Brian is a life long resident of the area and was a rich source of information. We stopped at a state park where the village of Rivendell in Lord of the Rings was filmed. The set was mostly gone but there were photos from the movie available. We visited 3 wineries for tastings with stops at magnificent viewpoints along the way. Lots of fun with a small group.

We've just had a fantastic day with Brian, our tour guide. He was very approachable and easy to talk with. Excellent knowledge of the area and went the extra mile to show off the Wellington region. He listened to our interests and changed plans to match our wants. We highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a more personal experience, rather than a large commercial operation. Brian is your guy...top notch fella.

This was a great tour! We were a group of six girls out for a birthday celebration.
It included pick-up and drop-off from our preferred location in Wellington City, a visit to Kaitoke, 4 vineyards and 1 olivery.
Lunch was great and Brian was a lovely and knowledgeable host.
What was great is that there was a core plan with flexibility to suit. Add-on other wineries or stops - we even had a quick drink at the local pub before we set-off back home. Highly recommend!

It was just my husband and I that travelled with Brian. The tour was awesome as it included lunch, visiting a beautiful regional park on the way to the vineyards and a great mix of wineries. We had lunch at Colombo, the pizzas and cheeseboard was absolutely delicious. Brian’s knowledge and friendliness made it a great day and we would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

Had a fantastic trip to Martinbourgh with Brian. Went to some good wineries and had a really nice lunch at Colombo. Pick up and drop off from the hotel. Value for money!! Comfortable modern Mercedes van

What a fantastic day out, last minute decision to do the full day tour to Martinborough with Brian to fill in a day on our girls weekend in Wellington, best decision ever! Although there was only us three Brian was an accommodating host and tailored the day to suit us. Thoroughly enjoyed all our stops, lunch at Colombo's was divine, pizza's were AMAZING!! Would highly recommend doing a tour with Brian if you have the opportunity! We're already working on how we we will do another one when we come back for our WOW Weekend next year!! Thanks heaps Brian!
