The Vatican and its church, superb places of worship, you will be amazed, there are several museums, but above all they have rooms where the ceilings, the paintings are magnificent, above all book your tickets, we waited in line ( wire cut with ticket) 35 minutes otherwise it's 3 hours. On the other hand, we didn't take a guide and that was good, we stayed inside for 3.5 hours.
We finished with St Peter's Basilica which is free and outside, it's really magical, if you can do it, do it!!!! 2 hours in line but especially pay attention to the closing time, several people queued for nothing.

I expected a long wait after arriving at the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. The Viator contact (Rahman) was punctual and friendly and within minutes connected my friends and I (3 ppl) access to join an escorted/guided tour. best 2.5 hours ever spent alongside an informative and well versed guide on Roman History. What an amazing surprise this was and the unexpected blessing of joining an escorted tour! Best customer experience ever by Viator. Bravo

We were emailed that we needed to pick up our tickets at the business site. That our paper we had was only a voucher to turn in for the real tickets, We went to the business address provided twice Aug 15th and Aug 16th . We were not told it was a holiday, The place of business to redeem our voucher for tickets was closed. Found someone to call the number provided and no one answered. Did not get to see the Sistine Chapelr. A competing business around the corner informed us that they hadn't sold tickets for the 16th because Sistine Chapel was closed. We feel ripped off basically.

Viator’s outsourcing of our “skip the line visit” landed us in the hands of a 3rd party who was unorganized, rude, late and dismissive. The day prior to our Vatican visit, he reached out to change the time of our visit to once which was impossible to meet. We then reached out to Viator to confirm the change and the meetup spot to be assured our original time was still possible. The day of our visit, the 3rd party reached out again, confirming the time and changing the meeting point. When he finally arrived to the meeting point, he motioned to us to follow him then took off quickly and disappeared into a small store front. After a great deal of negotiation with the business owners over a period of 30 minutes, we were finally granted entry to the Vatican, but not before the business owner admonished us for booking so late (we booked 10 days prior) and telling us we were lucky to have got a spot because two people cancelled at the last minute. Overall, it was a stressful experience not knowing until the last minute if we’d make the tour or not (despite it being paid and confirmed) because of the confusion caused and being told ‘the only reason we made it was because of the cancellation.’

High cost just to "skip the line". According to the reservation we should meet at the agency at 12 PM. We expected that our entrance to the Vatican museum would start shorty agter. We got informed that 12 PM was just the meeting time at the agency, and our entrance would be at 1.45. After the arrival at the agency 1.45 we walked to another guide agency, to pick-up further tourists. Waited for these tourists to get ready, and went as a group to the Vatican museum. The two groups skipped the line, and then waited for the guides to purchase ordinary tickets at 17 eur. It seems that we paid double price, just to skip the line, and that the agencies did not have a scheduled timeslot for our entrance at the museum.

We were approached in the street by the owner of this agency who convinced us to purchase fast-track tickets to the Vatican, in order to avoid the long queue. Overall we had a good tour with a knowledgeable guide, however, the agent neglected to mention that first we had to wait 40 minutes in his office for the guide to arrive, and then that we will be joining another group in a nearby agency. Overall it took an hour and a half before we entered the Vatican. If there was any time saving I am not sure it justified the additional cost over the face value of the tickets.
