The shops were very close to our resorts, the staff there were very friendly, they answered all our questions and provided samples of just about anything we wanted to try before buying, and the prices were EXTREMELY reasonable. I wanted to buy a shirt at the resort gift shop, but I wasn't going to pay $90+ USD. I found the same style of shirt at this collection of shops for $18 USD.
Overall, we spent just over $200 here and managed to finish all of our shopping wants in one trip; some fantastic rum, several chocolate bars, several cigars, a couple pounds of coffee, and many souvenirs and gifts. We've already recommended the trip to other guests at the resort.

We were never picked up by the transportation through Viator but was able to make the experience with transportation through our hotel. The market was a great experience with various tastings and friendly staff! Would recommend!

The Guide explained the entire cigar manufacturing process to us and took us to stores with several purchasing options!

The pick-up went very well. It's an interesting location with no obligation to buy. You can easily spend three hours there and if you want to leave early you can be driven to the hotel. I was initially concerned about the price but was very pleasantly surprised. 👍👍

Pain free shopping experience with some interesting cigar information, Rum sampling was a nice treat but you don't much for free. The chocolate experience was enjoyable and knowledgeable and you were able to sample pretty much all of what they make and sell. The coffee experience was lacking when we went, it would have been nice to see them roasting the beans but the sample was nice. We spent most of our money here, prices were cheaper then the resort and great variety of souvenirs, I recommend getting the free cigar at the start to make the trip worth while. We stayed at Riu Bambu so shuttle ride was only about 15 minutes which was great. It's worth noting that you are able to stay as little or as long as you want. You are able to revist at each experience whenever you want so don't feel compelled to buy something right away.

It is not only the factory of the famous Don Lucas cigars. The complex is designed for visitors and also has a lot of souvenirs, handmade chocolate factory, coffee factory, jewellery shop and bar, where you can taste premium rums (only two, then each shot costs from 3 to 6 dollars).
The guides speak fluent English and help you with everything, explain the difference between the cigars and give you a taste.
For non-smokers, the factory tour is optional.

Set up tour and paid but was never picked up. Two hours later we went on same tour for free from our resort. Enjoyed it. Money was refunded promptly from this site, but frustrating losing vacation time.

The transportation service never showed up. We waited at our hotel for some time and then gave up, as none of our messages to the transportation service would go through and our calls were never answered. It was almost half a day waisted.
If you want to go to Don Lucas, I would definitely recommend booking the transportation directly via Don Lucas on their website. When we did that, the next day the pickup went without any problems and it is also for free! So save yourself the time and the money.
The experience at Don Lucas was amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful and you never feel pressured to buy anything. But the products are great, so most likely you will end up buying something :)

The tour was a no show. Wasted our vacation time waiting to be picked up. I noticed this in Punta Cana most of the tours are super unreliable.
