Pretoria (Tshwane) is one of the country's three capital cities, serving as the seat of the administrative branch of government (Cape Town is the legislative capital, and Bloemfontein is the judicial capital), and of foreign embassies to South Africa. Pretoria has a reputation for being an academic city with three universities, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Human Sciences Research Council...Named: Tshwane we are the SAME.
Nicknamed Jacaranda City due to its tendency in spring to go from urban grey to an amazing purple as the jacaranda trees flower.

5. Fountains Valley Resort
proclaimed as a nature reserve by President Paul Kruger on 1 February 1895. Consequently, this 60 ha reserve, along with the contiguous Groenkloof Nature Reserve, constitute the oldest nature reserves on the African continent.The Apies River flows through the resort, and there are two natural water sources in the area. The resort has various recreational facilities such as a caravan park, swimming pool, lapa, playground and barbecue facilities.The historic ruins of the house of Lucas Cornelius Bronkhorst (1795–1875) is located near the resort. The Bronkhorst family was part of Hendrik Potgieter's trek party during the Great Trek, and were the first owners of the farms in the district where Pretoria was later established.The Fountains Valley is a recreational resort at the southern entrance to Pretoria
6. Union Buildings
Though not in the centre of Pretoria, the Union Buildings occupy the highest point of Pretoria, and constitute a South African national heritage site, the official seat of the South African Government and also house the offices of the President of South Africa. The imposing buildings are located in Pretoria, atop Meintjieskop at the northern end of Arcadia These buildings, built from light sandstone, were designed by the architect Sir Herbert Baker(With Sir Edwin Lutyens he was instrumental in designing, among other buildings, Viceroy's House, Parliament House, and the North and South Blocks of the Secretariat, all in New Delhi, which in 1931 became the capital of the British Raj, as well as its successor states the Dominion of India and the Republic of India.) in the English monumental style and are 285 m long. They have a semi-circular shape, with the two wings at the sides, this serves to represent the union of a formerly divided people.
7. Freedom Park
Freedom Park is a heritage site and museum It is a multifaceted heritage precinct that consists of a series of memorial sites, linked by the common themes of freedom and human rights It is situated on Salvokop Hill and is dedicated to the memory of those who fought for freedom and human rights in South Africa The park includes a memorial with a list of the names of those killed in the South African Wars, World War I, World War II, and during the apartheid era

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of South Africa. We enjoyed his company. He also went out of his way to help us in the airport by taking care of our needs by referring us to one of his known porters to take care of our needs. Nice way to end our trip to South Africa.

My guide, Lesiba, was so knowledgeable. He shared stories about history and culture making each point of interest a richer experience. The Voortrekker Monument was my favorite stop of the day.

Voortrekker monument, our guide gave information that brought the history and culture to life.
Incredible tour, very good guide. Found visiting Mandela statue very emotional .
