Patrician residence in San Stae, housing valuable eighteenth-century furnishing and paintings. The palazzo is the home of the Centro Studi di Storia del Tessuto e del Costume (Centre for the Study of the History of Textiles and Clothing), and holds rich, complex collections coming from diverse sources. Among them, the museum displays a selection of rare pieces – fabrics and outfits, including original, sumptuous eighteenth-century dresses – of special importance. The dresses and accessories on display, which are for the most part of Venetian origin, were made with textured fabrics and often embellished with embroidery and lace, standing as excellent testimony to the skills of the large group of artisans (weavers, tailors, lace-makers, embroiderers, etc.) who contributed to creating the refined and luxurious elegance for which the Venetians were famed at the time.

Outside the tourist flow in the San Croce area, this museum absolutely deserves to be seen.
I really liked the layouts of the rooms.
From the costumes of the time, the decorations, the beautiful pieces of Murano, it is possible to understand what the grandeur of Venice had been. Also stop and watch the video (available in several languages) on the great Venetian perfumers. The price of a single ticket is 10 euros or you can opt to purchase it for 15 euros which also includes Ca' Rezzonico and Goldoni's house. Friendly staff

Our whole family were really impressed by how great this tour and little museum are. Our three young kids including our oldest boy of 11 really loved making their own perfumes after having learnt about and smelt all of the different scents in the museum. My husband and I thought the palace itself was gorgeous too. Our amazing tour guide Elena (or Helen) gave a great insight into Venetian life over the centuries and the kids were really engaged and captivated by her. Our group was very small and felt private as MUVE who run the museum do seem to really tailor and time the tours according to demand. This one is a hidden gem amidst the busy-ness of Venice.

I love this place and visit whenever i can. Quiet, unassuming and interesting. The temporary displays are always interesting. The 18th century waistcoats are beautiful

Really not worth it in my own opinion. I had high hopes of lots of original historical clothing but it is really just walking through various rooms with a section of fancy waistcoats and a few mannequins with a bit of drapy clothing on. I liked sniffing the perfume essences and herbs but that really was it. Save yourself some Euros and just look at the pictures. It took me 15 minutes all in all.
