We had a great time with the entire staff at La Sirena Restaurant and Bar a fun and friendly atmosphere, we meet Miguel and Alex at the outdoor patio where they told us what to expect. So it started with ( none other than) a shot of tequila where Miguel the Tequila Sommelier explained all about the tequila and the process of making it, how to tell if it is certified and where it was produced at. After several shots of tequila each shot was paired with a different tapa recommended by the chef and served by Alex.
We would highly recommend this to anyone in the Puerto Morelos area resorts, group size doesn’t matter, the team is very accommodating.
Making reservations was easy and communicated withe the staff though WhatsApp.

This tequila tasting was the best tasting I've ever experienced! Our group of family and friends were able to sample some exclusive tequila we had never heard of previously! The tequila was very smooth and some were very flavorful. We learned so much about the tequila process, how to identify quality tequila, and we all graduated from the class with a certificate and T-shirt to show off our tequila expertise! The tequila was excellently paired with tapas and just as memorable as the tequila!!!
We stayed in the Hotel Zone area of Cancun and arranged for transportation to take us to the restaurant, which was easy. I would highly recommend visiting the Tequila University!

A fantastic experience between the view, the knowledge, Miguel's enthusiasm and friendliness (and the rest of the crew as well!), the tapas, and of course the top shelf tequila! Worth every penny!

You guys! Do yourself a favor and book this amazing class!! Here's why:
First and foremost, Anthony (the owner of La Sirena) is such a delight to deal with. I booked a class for a group of 8 and not only did he answer all of my (million) questions, he gave me recommendations on the best way to get from our resort to the restaurant, and didn't get annoyed that we had 4 separate payments for the group to pre-book. He followed up to confirm before and made sure we had the best experience afterward. Especially these days, I truly appreciate above and beyond customer service.
Second, the class itself was not only extremely entertaining, we actually learned so much about tequila. In full disclosure, there were 2 non-tequila drinkers in the group (myself included; however, when in Rome!) and not only did it completely change my perception of tequila - as a spirit lover it truly taught me the differences between good tequila (aka drinkable) and garbage tequila. Moreover, our tequila expert (and I mean EXPERT) Miguel was amazing. He was funny, patient (again with the millions of questions), and definitely NOT stingy with the tequila. You will certainly enjoy spending the afternoon with him.
Third, the food! THE FOOOOODDD!!! Separate from the amazing tequila experience, I would 100% pay the price of the class solely for the food. My husband and I travel often and the food/presentation could carry itself in the best restaurants in Miami, New York, or Spain. I say this with the utmost sincerity.
Lastly, the surrounding village is absolutely precious and filled with authentic Mexican vendors providing the perfect opportunity to grab some souvenirs to take home to the fam. Overall, I would highly recommend this tasting experience - you will thank me later!

Great experience. Miguel tequila was super friendly and knowledgeable. The view was great, the food was also awesome. Felt like VIPs and would definitely recommend for a group.

My husband and son loved tequila university! They both learned so much about tequila during their afternoon of tasting many different types of tequilas. The tapas pairings were delicious too. There is no place with a better view than the rooftop at La Sirena to top it!! My husband is going again when we have guests next month. If you are in Puerto Morelos it’s a must!

Tequila University is a must-do at La Sirena in Puerto Morelos! Enjoyed learning about the intricacies of true tequila production and introducing our palates to the different varieties. Coupling the plentiful pours with superb tapa pairings. Maestro Tequilero, Miguel was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The rooftop setting completed a perfect experience.

This was an amazing experience, a whole bunch of fun, and truly educational. I came in liking tequila and left loving it and understanding it. AND the tapas pairings were exceptional, not an afterthought. The instructor Miguel was deeply knowledgeable, fun and entertaining. The tequila was poured liberally. The group was intimate with only 8 students. And finally the space on the roof under a palapa where the tasting is held is spectacular with wonderful views of the delightful pueblo, Puerto Morelos, where the restaurant is located.
