In Xochimilco, upon reaching the calm waters of its canals and its floating gardens, you will enjoy a picturesque cruise through one of the last traces of the Aztec period in a pre-Hispanic boat. Learn the history of this place, first established as a pre-Columbian city.

Afterward, enjoy a brief visit to Coyoacan, known as the cultural heart of Mexico City, a place that is very popular with people who live nearby and who has been a source of inspiration for various national and international artists. In the same neighborhood we will visit the Frida Kahlo former house and active museum, known as "The Blue House".

Floating on the boats at xochimilco and listening to the mariachis. Frida’s house was very interesting

Certainly saw and did a lot more than expected. Saved a lot of time trying to get to all those places on our own. The guide answered all questions and told us many interesting things. The driver was a real expert at navigating in traffic!

Definitely a must-do! Our tour guide was fabulous as was our driver when my husband and I needed help with climbing in and out of the boats!

Overall, this was well done - very pleased with our guide (Ursula) and our driver. We spent a bit too much time at a silver shop. The biggest downside about any tour to this destination is just how much driving is involved. Over half the time was navigating the city traffic so just make sure the sites are worth the time on the roads for you.

I really enjoyed this small group tour! We had a great guide who was very informative, patient as we perused for souvenirs, and funny. I particularly enjoyed the boat ride. The canal was a little crowded, but the captains handled everything well. We also had the chance to enjoy some live mariachi music on the brightly colored boats. I loved the Frida kahlo museum! Such a beautiful, meaningful space. I also enjoyed how the tour allowed us adequate time to do things on our own; it was structured, but not rigid.

The guide was knowledgable and kind. The problem was the tour schedule. The first 2 hours were circling a 3 mile radius to pick up other guests. The University of Mexico was a wasted stop. The time should have been spent on Cuayacon and the museum which were rushed at the end. Literally we spent 5 hours in a van for a couple of hours of activity. The boats were okay and people say it is a must do—-we could take or leave. In hindsight we would have Ubered to Cuayocan and spent the afternoon, had lunch and visited the museums. This was expensive and not enjoyable on the whole.

Additional activity - the murals at the university was very interesting.
Xochimilco a complete waste of time. Horribly touristy with nothing worth seeing. Coyoacan - not enough time after the Freda Karlo museum to check out anything at all.
But actually we could have stayed another hour, had we been allowed to get back a little later.
Slightly complicated because some of the group were not visiting the Frida Karlo museum - so they had time to see the town, but those who did visit the museum did not.
Given that those visiting the museum had paid more than double for the trip, there should have been time for them to see the town too.

Xochimilcho was great fun. Excellent guide. There was too much wait time between events, possibly holiday related.
