It is a walk through a little visited part of London unknown to many tourists . Sweeney Todd's barbers shop supposedly stood at 186 Fleet St on the corner of Hen & Chicken Court according to the original story published in a penny dreadful magazine in 1845. Fleet St is also the former newspaper publishing area of London with small alleyways, hidden places and old pubs dating back to just after the Great Fire in 1666.

I did the Sweeney Todd walk. There was actually very little about Sweeney Todd. Lots of other subjects brought in - Jack The Ripper, The Knights Templar, Dr. Johnson etc. The locations were lovely and unusual and it was overall enjoyable. The guide was a little scatty though but full of knowledge, even if a little haphazard!

I went with a friend last night and we both absolutely loved our tour with Jenny. We have both lived in London all of our lives yet neither had ever seen the fantastic areas of London that Jenny walked and talked us through. This tour is a much more than the story of sweeny Todd and would highly recommend. Jenny is so knowledgeable and entertaining. We had a fantastic evening.

The walk around Temple was lovely due to the wonderful buildings, but as walking tours go this was really boring. Jenny our guide was not dynamic or entertaining she just droned on like a school teacher. Some of the time we couldn't even hear her as she stopped in such unsuitable places. I know Sweeney Todd is a fictional character but surely if the tour is called"Sweeney Todd " you would expect a bit more than just a review of a couple of TV shows. I was not entertained by photographs of a cave in Scotland? Very odd mix match of a tour, a bit of Henry viii, a bit of Jack the Ripper and a whole lot of Knights of Templar. Sorry, not for me and cannot recommend. Also a tip for the guide.. never set off on a tour where you have to talk for two hours without a bottle of water, and try to turn up on time!

We have been on a few London walks over the years. So know the protocol.
Last night Jenny was a few minutes late which seemed to fluster her. She never properly introduced herself to the group.

Jenny's first topic was Anne Boleyn! I was very surprised as I had booked a Sweeny Todd tour, so I checked with others to see if I was on the right tour. Apparently I was.

We were a huge group of 38, far too many people to be standing about on narrow Fleet Street pavement. Often I couldn't hear what she was saying as the traffic rumbled by. She did take us to quieter areas and alley ways.
At one point she asked members of the group if anyone had some water as she had a cough! Post covid should we be sharing water bottle? A lady did give her the remains of her drink.
Jenny probably knows her staff but she was more like a school teacher than an entertainer. Felt like I was on school trip.

Really enjoyed the walk - saw lots of hidden parts of London and learnt lots of history. We particularly loved the creepy atmosphere Jenny brought to the walk. The walk was definitely good value for money! Jenny is so knowledgeable and friendly - she knows so much about the city and has so many interesting tidbits to share. Would definitely recommend!
