Guide H did a great job focusing on the important pieces in each museum. We learned a lot about specific statues. I'd be nice to have a bit more time at each room of Luxor Museum to explore the items we didn't focus on.

Nile Holiday Tours: Very easy to work with - I had to reach out a couple of times before the tour and the responses were very friendly and received in a timely manner.

Tour Guide: Mr. Hani was amazing; we met with various guides/companies during our time in Egypt and believe he was the best by far. Myself and my other traveler agree that he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience in Luxor, inclusive of asking into what type of souvenirs we desired to acquire and making sure we obtained what we were looking for. Next time we visit Luxor, and nearby areas, we will be sure to reach out to Mr. Hani to see if he’s available!

Mummification Museum: This museum was our first stop for the day, at approx. 9:30a. I’m not sure if it was the time of day, but we happened to be the only visitors in the museum at this time. Our guide Mr. Hani brought us inside of the building to provide a very good overview of what we would be seeing in the museum. It’s worth mentioning that our guide could not bring us into the museum itself; this is common and you will come across signs throughout Egypt asking tour guides not to enter certain locations due to religion, etc. The museum itself is small, a single room to be exact, but it served it’s purpose of explaining the mummification process. It was also interesting to see a human mummy, a few animal mummies, the tools used in the mummification process, as well as the different layers of a mummy’s coffin.

Luxor Museum: This was the larger museum of the two and I believe we spent considerably more time here. Our tour guide was able to accompany us to all but three private rooms (two mummies and an antique room for reasons explained above). When he did accompany us, he provided great knowledge around the history and shared stories that made sense and place things into perspective/relevant context. The museum organized details and artifacts in a comprehensible manner and believe this is worth visiting if you make the trip to Luxor.

We had an excellent morning at the Luxor Museum and Mummification Museum guided by Khaled. These two Museums are slightly off the radar of the normal tourist trails. They are most interesting and well worth a visit. We also went to Karnac which was breathtaking. Khaled was patient and knowledgeable.
