A tourist’s travel to Rome is not complete without visiting the Vatican city, also known as the Holy City. It is considered to be the smallest independent state in the world, the home of Pope, and the center of Catholicism. There are plenty of good reasons to visit the Vatican, as this tiny city is full of attractions, points of interest, artworks, and history. Thousands of people come every year in the Vatican to admire the gorgeous Saint Peter’s basilica and square. This is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world.Sistine Chapel is an impressive artwork dated from 1473. This is the main location where Cardinals choose a new Pope. Michelangelo is the author of the famous frescoes that depict stories from the Old and the New Testament, and “the Last Judgement”. Even though you are not a religious person, you will be surely impressed by the breathtaking beauty of these frescoes.

What a delight our tour was! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Rosanna and her team were prompt in pricking us up at our hotel lobby, she and her team were super attentive to us and incredibly knowledgeable not only about the Vatican, but the city of Rome. I’m so happy to have made this connection and I hope to plan more tours in the future. Would highly recommend!!

Monika was great. She was very knowledgeable. We ended staying a bit too long at the basilica, and she and our driver were accommodating.

The tour was an amazing experience! The driver picked us up at our hotel and dropped off in front of the Vatican museums where our guide was waiting for us. No line because of skip line tickets. We visited the museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter basilica.
I absolutely recommend this tour!

The tour is wonderfully organized, tour leader was punctual (even early), entrances were swift and waiting times reduced to the bare minimum (almost non-existent). Tickets were delivered quickly and all relevant need-to-knows provided in a timely and informative manner. The visits were outstanding and they couldn’t have been easier. Lunch within the Vatican Museums was very good, in a stunning setting and the food was more than abundant: the pasta was “al dente” and everything else was very tasty. We had an amazing time and surely recommend this tour to anyone.

This was quite a challenging day. No fault of Viator, but the day was beastly hot and the museums are not air conditioned. The throng of people can be, at times, very oppressive.

We were picked up timely by the tour coordinator and deposited at the entrance to the museums. Our tour tickets said we were to get a tour starting at 8:00 and that we could “skip the line”. We got neither. The security wouldn’t let us through until 8:30 and we were cast among THOUSANDS of other people who were there for the museums opening time. We were not let in until thousands of other people were, so we were forced to stand in the heat and look at pictures from the book our guide brought along. That’s a lot of nonsense when you are paying $250 to get in early and “skip the line”.

After we were let in, we had to wait another 20 minutes while our guide exchanged his voucher for admission tickets. We now lost an hour of what was supposed to be a four hour private tour. I feel gipped.

Our guide was very nice and reasonably well informed. His English was spotty, at best, and often didn’t understand our questions, and admitted that he normally works the Coliseum tour.

Given the English challenges, the lack of explanation around why we were not able to skip the line and our guide’s lack of comprehension, we were kind of disappointed.
