Assigned guide was born and raised in Chinatown as a child, and knows every nook and corner of this area. She would be able to provide with a very personal account of her experiences growing up in this area, including her encounters with colourful characters like prostitutes, Samsui women, opium smokers, secret society members and more!

To hear what Singapore was like and what triggered the changes. The tour was informative, interesting. It was good to try a real Singapore breakfast that was surprisingly yummy

I would highly recommend the tour! Jasmine the guide gave a deep and insightful nostalgic account of Chinatown and brought the place to life with her personal anecdotes. You would leave with a real understanding of the place.

We LOVED this tour. Jasmine our guide was fantastic. We had taken the HDB tour with her and loved her way of explaining things. She has been born in Chinatown and was able to show us where her house used to be. She took us to smith hawker market for breakfast. We tried a completely different food of steamed rice cake with meat and sauce over it. We had a delicious cup of sweet black coffee ( kopi O)
Jasmine explained how to order, which vendors had been there the longest and a wee bit of history regarding the food. On the HDB tour we’d had the toast set breakfast so wanted to try something new.
After breakfast we toured Chinatown, got to know the names of the streets. We then went to the Chinatown heritage center. This is an amazing museum and a tribute to those that loved through it.
Jasmine was one of 11, they lived in 2 small rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen. There were examples of these rooms in the museum. My husband had a cold so we went to a Chinese herbalist and got a special tea. It fixed him;)
If that didn’t fix him the temple visits would have.
We got to see the hills/clubs section of China town and ended up at the Maxwell hawker center,
Please do this tour and ask for Jasmine
