Maria was an amazing guide! The small group is the way to go (we had 9). She found places for us to be together and hear about the art that big groups could never do. She was funny and engaged while other tour guides around us sounded like recorded audioguides. She gave us lots of information and several times asked the group if wanted more information or if we wanted to move to the next section. Never felt rushed. She was an expert at guiding us through the more congested parts which is also easier in the small group. She gave us the option to leave and tour more Vatican museums on our own or to be guided through Sistine Chapel and helped to find the entrance to St. Peter’s and where to go for those who wanted to climb the dome. Worth every penny!

The tour was interesting and informative. The Vatican is very big and the tour covered only a small part of the museum however we could have explored more of the museum on our own with the same ticket. Unfortunately at times we found our guide unkind and aggressive. We did not expect that.

Colin was our tour guide and he was great! He was so knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our tour with him! He gave us a lot of great tips and he helped us find a few good photo spots as well! I highly recommend booking him!

The guide Barbara was amazing, very knowledgeable and theatrical! She ran her tour with speed and enthusiasm so you could never get bored and were constantly educated.
She was also very empathetic and gave us her number in case we needed her help after the tour.
I would thoroughly recommend carpe diem to anyone who wants to see the key elements of the Vatican and its museum quickly(still 2 hours!)

Fantastic Tour! Barbara was extremely knowledgeable about every corner of the Vatican Museum. She almost intuitively knew when we wanted to spend more time viewing certain aspects of the tour, and somehow was able to make space for us to stand for best viewing of exhibits. Barbara was also highly entertaining. We learned a lot, but also got some laughs. I wish I had more time in Rome; I would have booked tours of other sites with Barbara!

We were delayed leaving the meetup spot (they granted the last person in the group more time - 8 minutes beyond the 3:00 meetup time - but WHY since a rule is a rule) and then delayed again inside the ticketing area while our guide waited in a queue to gather tickets. So for a 3:00 listed start time, we didn't get into the gallery until near 3:30. Then it felt RUSHED. Daniel did a nice job picking out selected art in the extensive and massive museum, and talking about the art, but the whole experience felt rushed. Again, we lost 30 minutes at the start for a tour that only lasted until 5:00
