This is a 2-hour walking tour where we explore the lesser-known streets of the old city centre whilst describing the more gruesome parts of the history of Dublin.
On this Macabre tour you will discover a more sinister side to the history of our city and hear stories of torture, executions and serial killers.
From the heart of the city outside the GPO we head west through the previous Viking and medieval areas of the north inner city before crossing the river and finishing in one of the oldest parts of the city beside Christchurch and Temple Bar.

I would highly recommend this tour conducted by Rob for anyone coming to Dublin! Rob is a natural storyteller with a great talent for sharing Dublins past and placing it in a modern perspective. The tour helps to contextualise different eras of Dublins history in a fresh, detailed, and easy to understand way. The tour is new and will definitely be one I’ll be recommending to friends and family

This is my second time booking a tour with this company. I had a family with two young kids and our tour guide James was excellent! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who came to Ireland and want to actually know about the country they are visiting. If my 7 and 9 year old kids can walk through this, anyone can. James was very knowledgeable and kept us on the edge with his storytelling as well. I have paid for many other tours and they honestly cant compete with this Yellow Umbrella tour group. The guides do much more and teach you a lot more than some of the expensive tours. Save yourself and take this tour and give whatever you want in the end. I hope they never stop these tours because my family cannot wait to visit again and take another tour being offered. I literally had this tour with friends and then made my family do it because it was that good!

This memorable walk through Irish History will make you laugh and maybe shed a few tears, but certainly you’ll gain knowledge through facts, perfectly presented by the guide, in all aspects - political, social, cultural and religious, which will make you not only understand, but also fall in love with the heart and soul of Ireland!
