We loved our Countryside tour with Ahmed and his family. It was such a treat to see his home and meet his wife and children. We were able to see his land, where he was growing sugar cane, fruit, herbs. His wife showed us how to make a traditional Egyptian dish and cooked for us. We enjoyed the lunch together. Very friendly and knowledgeable! You must meet Ahmed!

I thoroughly enjoyed a lovely welcome to a family home where Casper’s wife cooked a meal and invited me to help. Casper’s translations and charades helped the language barrier but his wife couldn’t have been more genuinely joyful and welcoming. A wonderful, rare opportunity to glimpse a typical family’s home, more of an invitation to dinner in their home than a typical cooking class. I asked to walk to the market and Casper took me past everything from local fruits and vegetables, to fresh fish and meat. I phoned Casper to ask for a 1:00 pickup instead of 9:00 so if you don’t want this tour so early, call and ask if it’s possible to change the time. You can see the pyramids if you stick your head out their window so perhaps you could plan your own tour to the pyramids and book this cooking trip to coincide. Much better than fast food, more like a restful home cooked meal with a local family. Don’t worry about the minimal number of reviews for this “cooking” tour, as Casper has various other tours and this one is booked less often. I felt perfectly comfortable as a solo senior female. A great break from the hustle and bustle of a tourist’s week!

It was a privilege to be invited into a family home to cook and eat with them. I learnt the kinds of foods eaten at different times of the day. Fresh meat and vegetables were from the daily local market. I helped prepare all the dishes and will try some at home. There wasn't a kebab in sight. I was treated as an honored guest. Thank you.
