Your guide will meet you at the tourist office, to kick off your visit with a panoramic tour around Toledo, stopping at the Mirador del Valle viewpoint, before moving on to the guided walking tour. After the tour, and depending on the option you choose, your will be taken back to your hotel in Madrid, or if you prefer, you will have 3 hours of free time to have lunch, walk around on your own, or go shopping in Toledo, before returning to Madrid. The 3-hour guided tour is a walk through the Christian, Jewish and Muslim quarters, visiting the main monuments, such as the cathedral, the mosque or the synagogues, as well as underground archaeological remains.

Our day tour in Toledo was the highlight of our trip to Spain. There is so much history and culture in Toledo, it is not to be missed! Javi was a spectacular guide and made sure our day was perfection. His family has deep roots in Toledo, he knows everything about the city and we are grateful that he shared his love and expertise with us. Toledo and Javi have won our hearts and we will definitely be visiting again.

Fantastic tour. Javier picked us up and was very friendly and accommodating. Valle was our guide. Her love for Toledo and all we saw was evident and it helped make for a great tour. Beautiful city and this tour was fantastic way to see it. Highly recommend!

Our guide Javi was great. He is very knowledgeable and knows how to communicate that knowledge. I’ve been on many tours and he was the best. If you book him you will not be disappointed.

We had a phenomenal time with our driver, Guillermo, and our tour guide, Carlos. Guillermo picked us up from our hotel right on time in a comfortable Mercedes-Benz van. He was extremely friendly and was a safe driver.
Our group consisted of 6 people aged 44-82. The three "seniors" had been to Toledo before, but the 3 "children" had not. The seniors decided to go with us just to tag along and have fun as a family, but didn't expect to learn anything new. They were so wrong.
Being in a small van allowed us to stop at areas where the big buses cannot enter/stop. Carlos was absolutely exceptional. His knowledge of Toledo's history and in particular, its art, was extensive. We saw so many things during our 3 hours with him and received an in depth explanation of everything we saw. The three "seniors" all stated that despite having been to Toledo before, they didn't truly appreciate what they were seeing before meeting Carlos. All of us were very moved by the cultural significance of the city. We returned home yesterday and we all agreed that the visit to Toledo was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Spain.
After the fantastic tour, Carlos was able to get us a table at a traditional restaurant for a tasty lunch. We had a bit of free time, which we used to purchase traditional ceramics (Carlos had given us a tip on where to go for authentic pieces). Afterwards, we met Guillermo at our designated meeting point and returned to Madrid. It was a seamless experience that we will never forget!

We had an AMAZING 3 hour tour with Sonia. She was so knowledgeable and accommodating and tailored the tour to our interests. Our driver was also wonderful, both were easy to communicate with the day prior to the tour. We had lunch at Botera, which I also highly recommend!! Our day in Toledo was a highlight of our trip to Spain!

Javi was an absolutely amazing tour guide along with our driver who was also name Javi! Accommodating and knowledgeable as he lives locally in the area. We felt paying for a private tour was definitely worth every penny after touring with Javier.

Javi was absolutely so well read and knoweable. We were fortunate to have him. I appreciate his deep understanding of art history, so much so that it added context to what I already know about Caravaggio and Titian. I appreciate his enthusiasm and love for Toledo. I'm leaving here with a greater lover for the city. I will absolutely recommend to my friends.

Luis, the driver, picked us up promptly in a spacious impeccable car from our Madrid hotel at 10AM for a 40 minute drive to Toledo. There we met Sonia, our tour guide, who gave us the history of Toledo with views from outside and inside the city. A guided tour of the spectacular cathedral was a highlight, and I am not a fan of ABCs (Another Big Church). She was personable and informative and all in our group would highly recommend. Fluent in multiple languages, she is also a whiz as a photographer allowing us to return with great photos against scenic backdrops. After 3 hours we were returned to Luis for an easy drive back to Madrid. All in all a fabulous day!

Many people asked if we used a guide for our all day tour of Toledo or if we did it on our own. Since we wanted to see the city from several different viewpoints not easily accessible without a car and since we wanted a tour set at our pace and that avoided steps and inclines as much as possible, we went with a private tour with hotel pickup and drop off from our hotel in Madrid.
We picked Distino Travel. Javi was the best guide we’ve ever had. He gave us a relaxing day tailored to just what we wanted. Extremely knowledgeable and very personable, he was an absolute delight to work with. And we learned a lot in the process.
We miss Javi already!
