A lovely day trip with lots to see and do. Very friendly for kids to walk, not difficult and there are many stops along the way as you visit the refuge. Lots to learn about the various animals. All the installations were very clean and well maintained. I can’t say that I agree with the cage sizes but in the end it was nice to be able to see the animals up close. The animals seem to be well cared for and well fed.

The price of the buffet is quite high so we opted to picnic prior to entering.

The signage to the waterfall is excellent and accurate. Many view points as you make your way back to the shuttle to return to the main entrance. This is a plus with kids.

The gift shop prices are insane, over 4X the price of other souvenir shops, so buyer beware.

This place has beautiful flowers and plants that are Insta worthy. You have free range to roam the gardens and see the animals. The five waterfalls were spectacular. At one point you can capture three waterfalls in one picture. I do caution that the path to see waterfalls involves a lot of stairs. They are well paved, but they save the incline for last. Just prepare to be working your muscles.

My wide and I decided to go on this tour to see the wildlife and La Paz waterfall. The grounds were beautiful in the gardens and wildlife area. However, I do not agree with the limited space the animals have in their enclosures. Finally, the stairs down to the waterfall were considerably more than what the host told us.

This was one of our favorite activities in Costa Rica. The animals were neat to see and the waterfalls were gorgeous. The drive from San Jose was treacherous - I can see why there were many tourist buses, but I think that is just Costa Rica driving. We loved the sloths, pumas, and butterfly gardens.

This is a very beautiful and unique location. We had a great day and really enjoyed being able to see the animals up close. We rented a car to get there from San Jose as transportation is not included in this excursion. It is only 23 miles from my hotel, but took more than 90 minutes there and two hours back.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens is an absolute highlight. We loved every minute of it and I want to go back already. They are super professional, the location is stunning, the food was great, and I wish I could have stayed all day here. Great animal habitats and you can tell they take great care of their “residents”. The landscaping is out of this world and the actual waterfalls were a joy to watch. I seriously can’t say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend.

I asked about logistics in how to get there nobody responded. how do you expect tourists or foreigners to have memorable experiences when nobody can respond? it was rainy day and i didnt know how to get there from downtown San Jose, nobody would respond, so there goes a wasted ticket.
