Salt Lake City is the capital city of the US State of Utah, has an estimated population of 191,180. The Salt Lake City International Airport is located just 6.4 kilometres away from the city. It also the home of the University of Utah. In 1982, it broke news headlines as being the first location where an artificial heart transplant operation took place. The city is also well known for being host of the Winter Olympic Games in 2002.

The campus of the University is also the site for The Natural History Museum of Utah. The International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers is an organization for women which preserve the history of desert area's original settlers.
Punk, rock and roll, hip hop and blues dominate the local music scene. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was also founded in Salt Lake City. Music and the Spoken Word is a weekly program and the longest running broadcasted program in the world, which is delivered by the choir.
