This was by far the best park we have visited! We enjoyed all of the activities, and even had time to do some of them twice. Our favourites were the underground river swim, the new 5 in 1 water slide and the hammock splash. We arrived just before 9, got our wristbands and helmets, got set up at our lockers and hit the new water slide right away. I was amazed that there wasn’t a line! We walked right to the top and basically got on our tube. Even though it was spring break, nothing seemed busy. We would check the centre heart to find out wait times. We found the best times for the zips lines was around 12:30 when people started going for lunch. It was still listed as yellow for wait time, but that was only a 15 minute wait, for about 1 hour of ziplining.
Besides all the fun and unique activities, we really noticed the attention to safety especially on the new water slide and the zip lines. All the safeties are backed up, and checked multiple times. The staff are also very attentive to customer well being and safety. I entered the park with an injury/limp, and a staff member from every single activity asked me if I was ok when I left the activity limping. They have safety staff/lifeguards throughout each activity checking on your well being.
We also loved the fact that much of the natural landscape has been preserved, and incorporated into the experience. It’s not a concert jungle of artificial fun. We also really appreciated the fact that there wasn’t music blaring through the park. We enjoyed being able to hear the wind blow and hear the birds sing. Often times we leave a theme park with sensory overload and can’t wait for the quiet of the car. Not hear- there were many opportunities to enjoy the quiet of the caves, the sound of waterfalls and the songs of birds. The only music we heard was in the restaurant .
Another thing we really enjoyed was the picture package. We initially said we weren’t going to spend the money for photos, but decided to splurge, and our sooo glad we did. There were so many photo ops on the rides/activities- many of them automatic, and others where you scan your wristbands and strike a pose. I’m sure we have more than a hundred photos to go through, and we never had to worry about carrying a camera/phone or getting it wet.
We also enjoyed the all inclusive food. We stopped for a mid morning smoothie and cookie break and appreciated the healthy options, and lack of crowd/wait. We also enjoyed the lunch buffet and the fact that we didn’t have to carry around cash or cards. Really all you need for a day of fun and adventure is your bathing suit and water shoes. We found that we didn’t need a hat, sunglasses or sunscreen because the majority of our day was underground, or in the shade. (That may be different if the outdoor lines are longer).
All in all, we had a fabulous day, and would recommend it to those visiting the area, or those looking to plan a theme park visit. I’d choose this any day over Disney!!

This park was really fun! Ziplines are very exciting. I’d recommend to do them early. River swim is very fun too. Just like all other attractions they have. You definitely need the entire day (9-5) to do everything. Their buffet food is also really good. It has a lot of variety.

Note 1: People should keep in mind that you cannot bring your sunscreen as it is not good for water at the park. The park staff will give you small packets of sun screen but it’s not enough. If you’re worried about sunburns you need to bring a swim shirt or similar.

Note 2: Bring your ID if you have an electronic ticket.

Note 3: Arrive slightly before 9 as there are long lines to get in to the park. We came in at 9 and only got into an actual park at around 9:45.

Amazing day out! Plenty of activities and you can repeat them all as many times as you like.
Buffet lunch was brilliant, lots of choice and plenty of everything. The snack bar is available all day with drinks, fruit and biscuits.. all great.
Well organised and the staff at each activity were friendly.
We bought the photo package with a 50% off discount from booking with Tui. Booked and paid for the trip a couple of days before leaving the UK so paid in GBP saving any exchange rates. Photos were mostly great, take as many as you can at each photo opportunity as there is no limit, get your money worth!

I was very skeptical about this place, because it seemed a little touristy, but we were blown away! It was so much fun. The staff was amazing. The tours are incredible, I thought it was going to be kind of fake caves, but they are not! The people that work there are very organized and kind. You definitely want to buy water shoes ahead of time but if you forget, or didn’t they have them there to buy. You will be wet the entire day, so just plan on that. Buying the photo packages totally worth it too because there are many photo opportunities that you can’t get with your phone even with a plastic case, we were also surprised by how great the food was at the buffet which is included in the ticket price. They also have a little café with smoothies, juices and snacks between your tour. We opted to not ride the bus from the hotel because we would be sitting on it for 2+ hours Just to get there so we decided to take a cat there and home so we could stay at the park longer in the evening as well. Doing so allowed us to not have the crowds to check in and we could stay when everyone was packing up to leave at four. Worth the $40 cab ride each way in my opinion.

This is another fun adventure park by Grupo Xcaret in Riviera Maya. It is based in a system of stalactite caves with an underground river. You can swim in the caves, you can float on rafts. It's quite an experience with the water lit up and an occasional bat flittering by.
We are not much into ziplining, so we didn't try it, but if you do, this IS the place to go.
We chose to ride a dune buggy through 4 miles of muddy jungle, a suspension bridge, a bunch of caves - tons, tons of fun!
We had lunch at their buffet restaurant- if you tried buffets in the area , you get the idea, nothing spectacular, but you won't leave hungry, and it is included in the admission.
The park is a lot of fun and different from Xcared and Xelha

My wife and I visited the park in March. We had a lot of fun, but it felt like we walked a million miles. The zip lines were our favorite. There are eight or nine towers and it takes about 1.5 hours to complete the circuit. Beware, as there are no bathrooms once you enter the activity, so go before you start. Our least favorite was the underground hike, which was a walk through caves in water of varying depths and very uneven terrain. Lots of opportunities to turn your ankles. You don’t really get to see the view because you have to really focus on where you’re stepping. The amphibious vehicle activity wasn’t amphibious, just a dry dirt track with slow vehicles. If there’s a line, don’t wait for it. Food was plentiful and ok, especially since it was included in the admission price.

A couple of caveats…don’t believe the US dollar pricing they quote. You will only get that price if you pay in USD cash. The exchange rate they use to calculate the price was 19.5 when the actual rate was 16.9. If you use a credit card, you’ll get the 16.9 rate and pay about 20% more. For example, they said the photo package price was $80, but at the spot exchange rate, it came out to $102. Also, buy water shoes before you go. The price at the park is ludicrous. Finally, we were advised to avoid weekends, as it gets crowded. We went on a Thursday, and it wasn’t too bad.

All in all, it was a fun and tiring day, and probably worth the price of admission.

Before I start the review please be aware that even if you are under the weight limit for the zip lines you may still be denied the ride. That’s very disappointing as the zip lines are the main park attraction. As it would probably be unethical to weigh everyone before riding they only provide small and medium harness to filter overweight people, therefore, an under the weight with large legs and bottoms a.k.a. midsize person won’t be able to ride. That happened to my wife, she is below the weight limit but the harness fit was tight and the staff said that she couldn’t go. That was very disappointing so please be aware of that. She had to wait for 40 minutes for the rest of the group to finish the ride. I suggest to the park that if a person needs a larger sized harness, state that it’s possible if the person allows to be weighted first.

Ok now onto the review:

Xplor is the more adventure-oriented park from Xcaret group. It’s conceived to make you feel like you’re exploring a jungle and its caves. Although I believe Xcaret parks don’t call themselves theme parks this one is the most thematic and the one that resembles Disney parks the most.

Yes, the comparison with Disney parks is inevitable, but I guess it’s a good starting point to manage the expectations.

The park hasn’t many attractions, it’s about six or seven (check their website, unlike Xcaret the list is accurate), but it’s enough to keep you busy throughout the day. We made through all attractions with one hour left. I recommend you to wait for the opening of the new attraction, tobogansomething, to go. It will be huge when it opens.

Use the queue size sign to plan your visit. I cannot recall where it is but it shows red yellow and green to inform the queue size for all attractions. Use it!

Manage your expectations for the “amphibious” veichle - the water depth is not higher than the wheel axle, so it’s as amphibious as your car but it was fun. It’s mostly slow and easy to drive (they’re one speed automatic). It begins lame but I believe that’s intentional, so you can get the handle of it, then it gets narrower and attention is required when you go through some caves and bridges. It was fun.

The park has a very cool feature - the heart - which is located at the center of the park and is a great landmark to use as meeting point.

For the footwear, unlike Xel-ha and Xcaret you won’t be able to do all attractions barefoot, on flip flops or slides. Underground expedition requires a sandal or water shoe to go so bring one. My wife went with a Teva like sandal and had a bad experience, I recommend a closed toe sandal such as the Crocs Swiftwater Sandal as you will be kicking rocks a lot. I don’t recommend water shoes either because not only they won’t protect you well but you might not use them again ever. Purchase your footwear before coming to the park - you can purchase a nice sandal from a renown brand for the same price as the park charges theirs china-mass-produced water shoes but that crazy pricing is expected for any park shop.

The all inclusive food is really nice, with a good variety and nice staff, like Xel-ha. It’s very nice to not have to scan bracelets, give tickets or pay to enter the restaurants and bars, it’s just enter and serve yourself, very refreshing.

It was a good experience, we had a lot of fun, we don’t regret going but we believe it’s a one-time experience, probably we won’t redo the park in another trip.

This only took us about 3 hours to complete but it was a great time! It is a requirement to wear water shoes so take some with you. My recommendation, don't buy Merrell water shoes, lol
