The trip was well organized and the sites were well chosen. Diago, our guide was engaging, helpful, attentive, and highly knowledgeable about Portugal's history. The only downside is that the weather could have been better, but it is to be expected this time of year.

Susanna was wonderful and full of knowledge. She did not cut back from teaching us the history. We even left Peña palace when it was pitch black out. She never tried to rush us and she brought us to the best places to see!

Great tour! Our guide Susanna was so kind and accommodating and incredibly knowledgeable about Portuguese history. So happy we booked a private tour as opposed to a larger group tour or taking the train by ourselves - we saw and learned so much more!

This by far was my favorite tour. Diogo was the perfect tour guide. His knowledge and experiences were exceptional. He laid out a fabulous itinerary for us in advance, giving us options to make any changes, which we did not. A perfect day of palaces, all exceptional, one after the other. The breathtaking Pena Palace, even with the long hike up to it, by far was just incredible. The views, spectacular. On our way back to Lisbon, we stopped in Cascais a remarkable town filled with life, great way to end our tour. I highly recommend him and this tour. If you do any tour this should be #1.

We booked a full-day tour of Sintra and Cascais with purchase of tickets in advance. Our guide was Susana who was the perfect professional. She confirmed by text 2 days in advance to customize our visits to our liking and purchase tickets in advance so no waiting in line at the palaces, castles and parks. She texted again the day before to confirm our meeting time at our hotel. Her car was right out front, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Susana is extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. We learned not only of Portuguese history but the context of the artifacts and buildings we were visiting. She imparts her knowledge in a clear and efficient way—interesting and complete. She arranged a delightful lunch at a cafe in Sintra and we even had a little time to do some shopping before on to the the Peña Palace. Because we had our tickets (and she seems to know all the castle staff) we wasted no time waiting in line. We ended the day watching the sun set over the Atlantic at the furthest west point of Europe and then visited Cascais before heading back to our hotel in Lisbon. Every location in the advertisement was covered and our day was delightful—our visit complete, I highly recommend this tour—particularly if Susana is the guide, She is an expert on art and history and a professional on the logistics of the tour that made the day just perfect.

This was an excellent tour. We were able to go where we wanted and see what we wanted to see. It was also very nice to have a guide get us into the museums (especially Pena Palace) and then explain the different pictures, statues, etc. in the museums. It was also great seeing the coast, coastal towns and beaches. Rui was a very good and entertaining guide!

Diogo arrived promptly at our hotel in the morning at 8:30AM. As it turned out, he was our individual guide, which resulted in a very personalized tour. Diogo is extremely knowledgable about all the sites we visited and provided a vivid background of the history and context of each site. We first drove to the beautiful Palacio Nacional de Queluz, which resembles Versailles in some ways. Diogo shared many interesting stories about the kings and queens who had resided in the palace. We then continued onto Sintra, where we first stopped at the mysterious Quinta da Regaleira, a unique palace and gardens built by an eccentric millionaire in the late 1800s. After this we had a great lunch in the village, and we invited Diogo to join us. Lively conversation continued as we enjoyed our meal together. We also had time to wander around the village which has many nice shops. We then continued on to the extraordinary Castelo dos Mouros, a 10th Century castle that was rebuilt by Dom Fernando II in the 19th Century. It is something to behold! As in all the places we visited, Diogo shared the descriptions of the many people who had once lived there. Diogo was extremely happy to answer all of our questions. We really enjoyed getting to know him. I highly recommend the tour and our guide, Diogo. We will have wonderful memories of this day.
