This private tour from the port of La Spezia to Cinque Terre is a lovely daytrip that will allow you to explore the spectacular coast and towns with a private guide. The guide will meet you at the port (or train station if you are in a hotel) and you will discover the lovely towns of Cinque Terre going by boat (subject to weather conditions) and train.The price also includes boat rides and train tickets. This is a private experience, you will not be part of a group

1. La Spezia Cruise Port
If you are coming on a cruise: your friendly local guide will meet you at the cruise terminal in La Spezia. Together with your guide, you will go from the cruise terminal to the train station (walking or by taxi - price of taxi not included) --- If you are staying in a hotel in La Spezia (or arriving from another city): you will meet your private guide directly at the train station La Spezia Centrale --- Together with your guide, you will take a short train ride of about 10 minutes and you will reach Riomaggiore, the first town (the train ticket is included).
2. Stazione La Spezia Centrale
If you are staying in a hotel in La Spezia (or arriving from another city): you will meet your private guide directly at the train station La Spezia Centrale. Together with your guide, you will take a short train ride of about 10 minutes and you will reach Riomaggiore, the first town (the train ticket is included).
3. Borgo Storico di Riomaggiore
Together with your private guide you will explore the lovely town of Riomaggiore. She will make you explore the various coastal towns of Cinque Terre, taking you to the spots with the best views, making sure you will not miss out on anything that is worthwhile. Transfers between the various towns will be done by ferry-boat (included in the price - subject to weather conditions) and by train (included in the price)
4. Borgo Storico di Manarola
You will then reach Manarola where your guide will show you around this charming little town
5. Vernazza
Together with your private guide you will reach and explore the lovely town of Vernazza. Here you may stop for lunch in one of the nice restaurants near the little port of the village (the price of lunch is not included but your guide will be happy to give you suggestions)
6. Borgo Antico
Together with your private guide you will explore the lovely town of Monterosso. Please note that depending on the schedule of your cruise and how much time you wish to spend visiting each one, it is not always possible to visit all the towns.
7. Stazione La Spezia Centrale
At the end of your private tour of the Cinque Terre towns, your guide will take you back by train to La Spezia and from there you will reach the port on time to board your cruise (from station to port you may walk or take a taxi - price of taxi is not included).

Our guide Matteo was excellent. He guided us through four of the five lands. We travelled by Train (November). His knowledge of the area was incredible. It was a lot of walking up and down hills and steps so where good walking shoes and be prepared for the steepness of the terrain. Beautiful views and Matteo made a reservation at a wonderful lunch spot.

For starters we arrived in a port that was miles away from our tour guide despite notifying the tour operator of our ship and dock. This resulted in us having to buy a bus ticket to the meeting point and riding an hour to get there. Texting and calling the whole way to be sure we weren’t abandoned. Not any way you want to start a tour and the operator of course blamed the booking agent. The tour itself was uneventful. The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable though soft spoken that made it difficult to hear all she was saying. The Cinque Terre is beautiful but the three towns we visited in the shortened time we had were pretty much the same. Then there was the worry about how we were getting back to our cruise which ultimately was only resolved by an expensive cab ride from the ending point of the tour to our port.

Unfortunately, I have had better experiences when booking a tour through Viator.

My friend and I spent a couple of days in Cinque Terre on our trip to Tuscany, and I booked this private tour for one of our days. The description of the tour said that the itinerary was flexible, but the only flexibility we seemed to have related to when and where we would have lunch. I would have appreciated a little more flexibility in the villages that we visited and how we traveled to them, as the stairs at the train stations proved challenging, and the description said we would travel to them by train and ferry. We took the ferry only once.

We had a nice lunch at a restaurant in Vernazza, and our tour guide knew the owner. The view was great, and the food was good. But, our tour guide struck up a conversation with people at the table next to us, and spent a fair amount of time talking with them, ignoring us. That should not happen.

All in all, I am glad that we did the tour, as it gave us a nice overview of three of the villages.
However, I suggest that the tour guide assigned to the tour talk with the group to give them some options on itinerary and how to travel between the villages. In retrospect, I would have taken the train to Monteroso first, then the ferry to Vernaza and either Manarola or Riomaggiore, and then the train back to La Spezia where we started our tour. It would have been nice to have some options.

Our guide Sonia was wonderful! She was very accommodating to our requests and so friendly and knowledgeable. We travel frequently and she was the best guide we have had in a while ! She is special ! The cinque Terre area is spectacular!! My favorite was Manorola, but all were gorgeous! Five star tour and 10 star guide !

Loved, loved, loved this private tour.

My partner and I spent the day with Luca and had the best time. We ended up doing all 5 villages. We weren’t able to use the ferries because of the tides but Luca made sure we were able to have amazing view points.

He took pictures for us and gave us amazing recommendations for dinner and wine tasting in Monterosso which was FANTASTIC.

Would never do Cinque Terre without this tour! We created a bound with Luca where it felt like we were travelling with a very good friend!

Loreda was a wonderful guide. She is very knowledgeable and generous in sharing that information with the tour participants. She very efficiently guided us from one town to the next via train or boat. Our group of 6 absolutely loved this tour.

This tour was the highlight of our trip! You won’t regret exploring the Ligurian coastline by strolling the picturesque paths high above the sea, stopping for a delicious Italian lunch with a view on your own, gazing from the perspective of the ferry boat back at the breathtaking villages which make up the Cinque Terre, shopping in the quaint boutiques, and taking beautiful photographs to treasure forever.
