Nashville to Jack Daniel's Distillery Bus Tour & Whiskey Tastings

What can I say. Fantastic. The JD distillery has been on my bucket list for years and we finally made the trip to Tennessee to do it! We booked through Viator and we had the confirmation and tickets straight away.

Clear instructions on where to meet and Frank our bus driver was brilliant. Made everyone feel at ease with some jokes and some fantastic knowledge of where to eat in Lynchburg and Nashville.

The drive was 1.5 hours from Nashville and luckily we got on the 11:15 tour so around half an hour to get a bottle of Jack in the shop and get it engraved to remember our trip.

Rachel was so helpful at the distillery and the tour was taken by Chion D- shouts to him for his enthusiasm and clear passion for JD and whiskey.

The tour was amazing and more than I hoped for. The $10 JD slushies are a must.

We did a tasting at the end of the tour in one of the barrels houses and again this was amazing. My partner who isn’t a massive whiskey fan even enjoyed this part!

We then had about 1.5 hours in the Lynchburg square which in our opinion is enough- we grabbed a sub from one of the small family run places and ate those outside JD is in the pretty gardens they have.

We went into the general store in town and bought some JD merch and received free shot glasses as we did the tour and spent over $10 on store.

Take note- you can only buy the JD whiskey at the distillery as Lynchburg is in a dry county. So make sure you purchase those before or after your tour.

The bus loaded back up at 14:15 with a 14:30 departure. Again Frank made some jokes and kept us entertained whilst we waited for other passengers.

The trip back to Nashville was around 2 hours because of traffic.

An amazing day that I’ll never forget.

Where to start! I’ve had the Jack Daniels distillery tour on my bucket list for a number of years.

We weren’t sure where to start with booking and after reading some reviews we chose Viator to book with Tennessee whiskey tours.

Frank our driver and guide was fantastic and told us all some fantastic advice for places in Nashville and Lynchburg.

Nothing was too much and Frank answered all our groups questions.

It’s about an hour and a half ride on a coach from Nashville to Lynchburg with no stops or restroom on board so plan accordingly.

Pick up was prompt and easy with Frank telling us the itinerary once everyone was on board.

Once we arrived at JD we met Rachel who handed us our tickets for the tour- if you can try and get on the 11:15 tour as with the tasting it’s around 1.5 hours. This gives you enough time to go to Lynchburg square for some food and shopping. Pick up was at 14:15 prompt and the bus won’t wait for you.

Chion D our your guide of JD deserves a massive shout out. He was FANTASTIC. So knowledgeable and very passionate about his job.

The tasting was good and the shop on site sells all the JD bottles that you can have engraved etc.

For your JD merch you’ll need to head into town to the general store where if you spend over $10 you get some complimentary shot glasses.

The bus loaded back up at 14:15 with a prompt 14:30 departure time.

Again just over an hour and 30 mins ride back to Nashville.

Please make sure you tip Frank- he’s awesome.

10/10 trip. All the pressure was taken off and plenty of time to do everything. The whole day could possibly be an hour longer so drop off at 5 rather than 4 to allow people some more time in Lynchburg but the 9-4 currently doesn’t leave you too short. Will 100% book this trip again when we return! Thank you!

I highly recommend this tour. The Jack Daniel’s distillery is such an interesting place to visit. Full of history, a fabulous production process and a beautiful place to visit. The bus ride was pleasant and on time.

Really great trip. Bus driver, Frank, was funny and friendly and got the day off to a great start. Our tour at the distillery was so interesting, tour guide really knew her stuff. Learned a lot and really enjoyed it. The tasting was great too, of course. Well worth making the trip.

This is an AMAZING TOUR!!! So worth the drive. Tour guide was great! informative, friendly, funny. You really get a great insider view. The tasting at the end was fabulous. Guided us thru how to really taste the flavor of the 6 samples. Highly recommend.

What a super memorable trip this was. A great guide for the tour, so informative and humorous along the way! Tour guide Morgan certainly was passionate about the work that is carried out at the distillery.
Hands down the best distillery tour I’ve done

Tour of the distillery was very interesting. General knowledge of the guide excellent. History of how Jack Daniels learnt his trade from Nearest Green was fascinating.

Bus was comfy, left at least 30 mins after listed time.
Worked out how much we paid for the Jack tour itself, and the little that you drink while there, and would have been much cheaper and less rushed to hire a car and book it separately not part of this tour, as it was essentially a couple of hundred for a bus to get there and back, with a little background about the town but that's it.
Jack tour itself was awesome.
