Take time out from San Francisco on a half-day trip to Muir Woods National Park and Sausalito.

This enthralling half-day trip takes you across the Golden Gate Bridge to the Bay Area's most popular National Park Monument to experience the magnificent views of the Giant redwoods during a 90' stop (entrance fee included).

Next, visit the beautiful coastal town of Sausalito, a gorgeous Mediterranean-style village with quaint shops and waterfront restaurants. If a one-hour stop in Sausalito isn't enough for you, you can extend your stay by upgrading your tour to include the Sausalito ferry back to San Francisco.

If you decide to come back by bus and are looking for possibilities to complete your other half-day, we offer you an upgraded option to save money, which includes a 4h Bike rental package from our partner Unlimited Biking (757 Beach Street, San Francisco, CA 94109). Fall in love with all San Francisco has to offer as you pedal around and explore the area at your own pace.

For us, two 70-year olds, it was perfect. The right amount of time wander through the redwoods. Nice time in Sausalito.

The driver/guide was great.

The park was beautiful and Heather was an excellent tour guide. The weather was a bit rainy but you barely noticed it once you were under the trees

The driver/guide was friendly, articulate, and knowledgable. She was good at time keeping and drove safely yet expeditiously to increase our time in the woods!

The transport was comfortable, modern and clean.

During the tour I realised I had accidentally booked 4 tickets instead of 2 - after emailing Gray Line and explaining the situation they refunded the two tickets even though it was probably my fault! The money was back on my credit card today. This is fantastic customer service to get the refund processed so quick!

Our guide was great. Funny and knowledgeable with a lot of good recommendations. The tour is very short and really only worth it as transport to MW. Makes it easy as a tourist not to have to worry about driving there. The park is beautiful.

Heather was an excellent driver/guide. She provided lots of interesting history whenever we were driving between locations and was very prompt. The bus was very nice and spacious. Muir Woods is beautiful, and 1.5 hours is perfect to get a taste. Would definitely recommend this tour if you don’t have a car in SF (renting a car would cost the same or be even more expensive after parking, tolls, etc.) Had a lovely day!

Good tour can’t fault it. A coach driver was funny with lots of information very accurate with times and very helpful. Yes, of course, you can save little bit of money bye doing it by yourself But this takes the stress out of it, which is worth the extra money .at muri woods . You’ve only got 90 minutes you can easily do the 2 mile round trail and will give you about 10 minutes in the gift shop which is enough to be fair, unless you like hiking for 10 miles .. Will definitely use this website again when booking tours

The Muir Woods National Monument was breathtaking! We loved our time hiking through the redwoods. We would've loved to have more than the 90 mins to spend there, but understand this is the park's policy with tour buses.

The drive to the woods was scenic, but the bus driver's commentary was very difficult to understand and not loud enough to even hear all of. A lot of it seemed like ramblings and I think a pre-recorded commentary intro to the Muir Woods would've been a better option.

The stop in Sausalito was too short to enjoy or even see the town. 60 minutes was barely enough time to grab lunch. Most of the lunch spots weren't even open! We wished we had chosen the option to take the ferry back to San Francisco so we would've had time to see the city. The drive back over the Golden Gate bridge was scenic and thankfully no commentary was provided.

Our bus triver/tour guide was great. The exit ramp to view the Golden Gate Bridge was unexpectedly closed so our guide drove us to another place where we could see the bridge. This was very much appreicated and in the end gave us a different view that we otherwise would not have seen.

Muir Woods was great. Plenty of time to explore with a few different choices of how long/far we wanted walk on the path. Bring a jacket b/c its chilly in the woods.

Sausalito was fine. We had pre purchased ferry tickets (which grayline gave to us at the start of the day) to take the ferry back on our own so we could stay longer in Sausalito. Once the bus dropped us off, we walked around for a little bit but decided we didn't need to spend a lot of time there and would rather do more things in SF. We got lucky because we decided to take the ferry back just before it was about to leave. We got to the ferry dock with one minute to spare. If we hadn't made that ferry we would have been stuck for two more hours. In hindsight, one hour is plenty of time to eat a quick bite, walk around and get back on the bus without purchasing ferry tickets.
