We had a wonderful tour with Nik our guide. She met us in front of a primary temple with huge crowds, but she still found us on time. We walked thru an active temple, rode the subway to a beautiful garden and visited an elaborate buddhist nunnery. We had time for a thouroughly Hong Kong lunch with many delicious dishes. Nik was fun to be with and spoke excellent english. She made our day in Kowloon meaningful and a true local experience. The company was quick to respond, organized a custom tour fro us with no complications or difficulties. Highly recommend City Unscripted Hong Kong and our guide Nik.

My Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 6 hour tour with our guide Mark. Mark was very friendly and easy going and engaged in all aspects of our tour. We were very pleased to leave the planning of the itinerary up to Mark and he organized our time perfectly with a great mix of history, tourist spots, and sampling of foods. His knowledge of the history of the city was amazing and he also gave us tours of the markets frequented by locals. Not only did Mark do a great job of showing us his city but he went above and beyond to provide us with helpful information and advice before the tour even started. He arranged all of our transportation and we experienced all modes. From car to tram to subway to ferry, Mark covered it all. Thank you City Unscripted for a great tour with a great guide. We couldn't have asked for anything more!!!

Your guide had a family emergency or illness and no one notified me that she had contacted VIATOR (Unscripted Tour) but no one notified me of this development. I arrived 10 minutes before the meeting time (9:00am), I was staying in Kowloon, so had to take a taxi across the harbor to the Central Post Office on HK Island in order to begin my 6 hour tour promptly at the appointed time. After numerous calls to the various toll free numbers listed and attempting to reach my guide via email, I finally learned that my excursion had been cancelled. So, I waited an hour & 15 minutes in the damp weather, in a desolate part of the city for a tour that never happened. VIATOR was responsible for notifying me of this change in events as soon as they knew! It's not like they DID NOT have my contact information!! Very disappointing since this was my last full day in Hong Kong.
VIATOR is in the process of refunding my fee for the tour and I have requested $15 taxi fare in addition. They've also offered a complimentary UNSCRIPTED TOUR in the future but I am hesitant to use them again.

The guide spent an inordinate amount of time on his phone attending to other business during our tour, which was not appropriate given the price of our private personalized walking tour. Several times, we were not able to ask questions because he was on another call.
Otherwise, he was pleasant and engaged.

We had a great day with Nik from City Unscripted
We were met on time, with a super convenient hotel pick up. The tour was completely personalized to what we wanted. Saw a chinese temple, incredible Zen gardens and nunnery including a fascinating exhibition on traditional pagoda wood architecture, waterfront promenade, avenue of stars, star ferry, old police and prison compound and so much more.
Learnt a lot about Hong Kongs history and heritage, as well as an eyeopener as to getting around the city using the subway and ate at a local eatery with delicious noodle soup, which we would never have found on our own.
Highly recommend for travelers not scared of walking; and looking for an authentic experience.

Charles was an excellent guy… He knew all the facts and was eager to share his local knowledge. he took us to the open air Fish market, how to select lobster and scallops and then helped us to get them cooked! He was full of good information and very personable.

Our guide Mark was exceptional. He carefully worked in places we wanted to see and guided us through the streets of Hong Kong to experience the new, old, and everything in between. Mark was kind and patient…he made the entire trip a wonderful experience of learning and awe.
Thank you Mark for helping us see the real
Hong Kong, not just the Instagram spots.
