Széchenyi Bath, the largest thermal spring bath complex in Budapest and throughout Europe, is the height of European elegance.
Built in 1913 in a captivating Neo-baroque style, the spa has a rich history, evolving from private steam baths to a vast complex featuring 3 outdoor and 15 indoor pools.

But the experience doesn't end at the spa; it extends into the heart of Hungarian culture with an optional guided tour inside the Pálinka Museum. After the spa, venture into the city center to savor the flavors of the “Hungarian spirit”. Hungary's well-known fruit-based liquor is deeply ingrained in the culture of the country. Unlike whiskey or vodka, it is exclusively crafted from fruits, resulting in a special aromatic profile.
Gain insights into Hungary's Pálinka Act of Parliament, a testament to the country's commitment to regulating and preserving the production & quality of the spirit. The museum provides deeper understanding of the craftsmanship and heritage behind this iconic drink.

A highlight of our trip. We did not know what to expect but are keen swimmers and the outdoor lap pool was amazing with the added bonus of good weather and the outdoor heated pool we would not have missed this for the world!

We were a little dreading given some of the comments, but it’s a visit worth making. Disorienting! The baths were clean. I had the bad experience of having my towel stolen (be careful!!!!) and the cocktails on site are not up to par (tequila in the mojito!!!) but for relaxing 3 hours in the water it's perfect ! Outside temperature 15 degrees was ideal. Direct access by metro line 1

Lovely place, inside it did smell a bit but that’s to be expected outside was really nice. The water was 36 degrees and so relaxing. Great drinks. Don’t expect to be there too long , 2hrs is plenty

Lovely time spent at the spa, although it was raining it didn’t t matter as the outdoor pools were warm and very relaxing. We spent approximately 3-4 hours which was ample time. Advised to take flip flops and towels and a robe or cover up if possible. The cabins are a great idea as you can your belongings in them safely.
Just a tip it was very busy

Loved it! Much better than I expected. Some bad reviews were really putting me off, but the whole experience was very good. The lockable changeable cabins were very spacious and felt very secure. The changing rooms, toilets and other communal areas were all very clean. Plenty of sunbeds around the bath temperature pools to sit and relax.
Should be made super clear before going that your own towels and flip flops and sliders are compulsory to wear. Otherwise you need to buy new ones at starting price of approx £10!

We booked an entrance to the private spa with a couple's massage. Useful for skipping the queue and convenient as with the private room there is the possibility of leaving luggage and bags. The only flaw is the lack of reserved bathrooms and showers. The spas are very large and crowded, certainly a characteristic experience but from an artistic and architectural point of view we preferred other spa sites in the city.
Finally the massage is relaxing but unprofessional.

Disappointing. Arrived at the venue, there are multiple doors of entry which took us a reasonable amount of time to find the correct entry point. No issue exchanging the voucher, no information provided whatsoever .. simply an “on you go”. No towels or slippers available to rent .. they need purchased which starts at €35. Experience included a locker which was incredibly difficult to access - booked tickets together and were given lockers 100 apart at opposite ends. Ticket included palinka experience and tour - there was no information on how to access this whatsoever. Spa was overcrowded, extremely busy. Nicer spa’s to visit in Budapest with better value for money.
