Delphi English Day Trip from Athens

Its a long day but was a highlight of our trip as we saw some of the countryside outside of Athens, heard some great stories about the Greek gods and their drama, saw some of the lakes and ski towns (!!) and of course spent some time wandering around the archaeological site. Only recommendation would be to skip the lunch at the hotel and get your own in the town - the bus will let you off and pick you up. The hotel is pretty cool in terms of architecture and the view is nice but the food is very hotel/convention/conference type food and I bet the little cafes in town have better options. All in all, it was a great day and we all enjoyed the tour.

The mountains are so beautiful! The drive was lovely! The lunch at the hotel amalia was divine! Would recommend for sure.

I absolutely loved this trip, our guide was so knowledgeable and brought Delphi to life. We also learned lots about Greece just on the way as various areas and sights were pointed out.

It's a great day trip away from the hustle and bustle of Athens.

The area around Delphi is beautiful, and the very important archaeological site as well worth seeing in person. It is complemented by the museum that is at the site. Be advised, however, that the site is a 3 Hour Dr. from Athens. Also, it is situated on a fairly steep slope, so there are many steps to take you up the mountain. I would classify the activity level as moderately severe to severe, and I do not recommend it for older people who have any difficulty at all walking.

The driver drives around safely, The tour guide is very professional with his narration and he has great sense of humour. We gained insight form this tour. The lunch at a cost of an additional is worth it as it comes with appetizer, salad, tasty main course and dessert.

I had a wonderful day and Stathis our tour guide was very knowledgable and fun. It is so beautiful to see these monuments. However, the lunch for vegetarians compared to non-vegetarians could definitely be better (chicken pasta vs a plate of chips and salad). How difficult is it to make vegetarian pasta?

Anyway, I would recommend this day but maybe without the meal.

Delphi exceeded my expectations. Beautiful place and very interesting history. The drive from Athens was well worth it. I recommend the tour.

This is a stunning place to visit but we didn’t get very long on the site itself therefore we didn’t have enough time to see the stadium or surrounding site.
The tour guide Vicki was excellent enthusiast and her knowledge and recall is stunning. The museum was great with some well preserved antiquity.
We chose not to take the lunch option but enjoyed the beautiful views on the hotel terrace.
Overall disappointed that time was too short would have preferred more time at the site than at the hotel.
