WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Florence
Make the most of your time in Cinque Terre... Meet your tour guide at Piazzale Montelungo Bus Terminal early in the morning. Piazzale Montelungo is located 5-10 minutes walking distance from Santa Maria Novella train station. Find your seat on the comfortable coach bus, sit and relax, and prepare to depart for your journey to the nearby coastline! The drive to Cinque Terre will take about two hours. Throughout the drive, your guide will entertain you with plenty of interesting information about the famous views and villages on the way, as well as Cinque Terre and what to expect upon arrival. If you have any questions, your guide will be there to assist you.
2. Stazione La Spezia Centrale
After about two hours, you will arrive in La Spezia, the closest city to Cinque Terre. Here, your bus driver will drop off the group at the train station. Your guide will lead the group through the small train station, and your group will get on the first train to Manarola. The train takes about ten minutes, and then you will arrive in the stunning coastal town!
3. Manarola
Manarola is an ancient fishing village famous for its brightly colored homes and pristine white wine! Enjoy marvelous views of its sparkling blue sea, the impeccable homes stacked upon each other, and the green grapevines towering in the distance. Your guide will happily point out the best viewpoints for photos (Manarola is very famous on Instagram, its views are incomparable!). You will have about an hour of free time to explore this picturesque town as you please.
4. Monterosso al Mare
The train ride to Monterosso will take about ten minutes. When you arrive, your guide will give plenty of recommendations for how you can spend your time in Monterosso. This historic fishing town is most famous for its wide, white sand beaches with crystal-clear water. Spend some time exploring the ancient town and indulging in some pesto pasta or delicious seafood for lunch. Then, find a spot on the pristine coastline to relax under the sun, take a dip in the incredible sea, and take some memorable photos! You will have plenty of free time in Monterosso to relax and to feel the marine breeze on your skin.
5. Vernazza
From Monterosso, you will enjoy a 10 minutes boat ride to head to the nearby town of Vernazza. The boat ride will take place only if weather/sea conditions will be considered safe by local organizers and will give you the opportunity to admire the fishing villages from another perspective! Admiring the Cinque Terre hills reflecting on the crystal clear waters of the Ligurian sea will be an experience you will not forget! You will have about 1 hour of free time in this lovely waterfront town. Make your way to the small, picturesque harbor, also called "the Pearl of Cinque Terre." If you are lucky, you will witness the local fisherman arriving back from their morning fishing in small blue boats. Enjoy the characteristic (and famous) views of Vernazza's emerald water and colorful homes. Spend some time strolling through the ancient streets smelling of fresh focaccia and pesto. If you need any recommendations, your tour leader will be happy to help!
6. Riomaggiore
Meet your tour leader at the train station to reach Riomaggiore, where you will be welcomed by more brightly colored homes stacked on striking cliffs. Enjoy about an hour of free time to explore the beachy alleyways, purchase any last-minute artisanal souvenirs, and admire the lovely views. When it is time to depart, you will see the sun starting to settle and what seems like gold flakes over the sea, as small boats pull into the port after their days at sea.
7. Stazione La Spezia Centrale
Your train back to La Spezia will take less than ten minutes. Follow your guide back to the bus, where you will depart for Florence.
8. Florence
Relax on the comfortable, air conditioned bus after your incredible day of exploration and beauty. You will arrive back in Florence in the early evening.

• Kindly note that the bus will drop you off in La Spezia or Levanto. Then you will move from one village to the other by train and boat. You will meet again your bus by the end of the day to make your way back to Florence.
• Kindly note that the Cinque Terre Semi Independent option does not include train and boat tickets. At the beginning of the day, you will be dropped off at La Spezia or Levanto, and you will have free time for the whole day in the Cinque Terre National Park. You will meet again your bus at La Spezia Centrale or Levanto in the afternoon. This option only includes a roundtrip transportation by GT coach to the Cinque Terre and back as well as live commentary during the bus trip.

• In the case of bad weather or rough sea, the boat will not operate. In this case, the boat will be replaced by a train route
• Please note that the given order of the visits may change in case of exceptional events as train strikes or road closures and disruptions

EASY TO GET TO LA SPEZIA VIA TRAIN FROM FLORENCE. FORM LA SPEZIA THERE ARE SUPPOSEDLY FREQUENT TRAINS BETWEEN ALL VILLAGES BARELY ORGANISED THOUGH. TRAINS WERE RUNNING ALMOST 2 HOURS DELAYED WHEN WE VISITED.

BEAUTIFUL SCENIC COASTLINE.

DEFINITELY BUY CINQUE TERRE PASS FOR EASY MOBILITY BETWEEN TRAINS AND TOILET SERVICES (1EURO IF NO CINQUE TERRE PASS). TOILET ARE VERY CLEAN AND PRETTY MUCH CLEANED AFTER EACH USE BUT, LONG QUEUES ON TOILETS ON EACH STATION OF CINQUE TERRE.

YOUO COULD ALSO TAKE A FERRY, KEEP CASH ON YOU IF YOU WANT TO BUY TICKET OUTRIGHT. CAN BE A BIT BUSY FOR TICKET QUEUE AND FERRY ITSELF IS REALLY PACKED UP.

WE LIKED THAT WE STARTED FROM TOP VILLAGE AND MOVED OUR WAY DOWN AVOIDING THE TRAFFIC. GET THERE EARLY AND STAY TILL LATE. DEFINITELY WORTH THE VIEW AND TAKE MATS OR SOMETHING TO SIT AROUND TO SAVE YORU LEGS FOR THE REST OF YOUR TRIP.

Amazing trip the hosts were great! We loved Cinque Terre so much we highly recommend this day trip. However we loved it so much that we wished we could have stayed if you can find accommodation and have the time we recommend staying. The day trip was fantastic and gave us a real taster. Lots of photos were taken. We didn’t do the lunch instead got it ourselves so that we could just walk the streets, sit on the beach have a swim and relax to take it all in.

No memory, we took a taxi to the train station to get to where the meeting point but because they had a big Marathon the city close several streets and I was about to take another taxi and the taxi driver spoke to the guy or operator of the tour and he say that we can be there in 2 minutes and he say no way, so I give a 0 * I’m thinking about canceling all my tours with VIATOR got like 4 more

Federico, Felippa , and Mario were great! Mario got us to and from our destination safely. Federico and Felippa were super friendly, informative, entertaining, and spoke a variety of languages. I highly recommend taking this tour!
One suggestion is to spend a little more time in Manarola, and a little less time in the spot that we stopped for lunch. Maybe this is a good suggestion for the cooler/cold months when the beach is not as inviting.

We were a family of 6 with children and seniors. The tour operator did not inform us that we have to carry our IDs to get the Chinque Terre Pass. Also , no information was provided to us regarding train services etc which resulted in catching the wrong train. There was no wifi in the bus. The cost of the semi independent only cover the bus ride to and fro from the bus stop. There was a 20 mins walk after the end of the day to get the bus. The tour operator did not provided any contact details and turned up 45 mins late at the end of the day to pick us all up. Overall a terrible service by the tour operator daniele

Incredibly long day and quiet rushed at each of the 4 locations visited aside from the lunch stop. Danni, our tour leader, had a tough job managing a full coach load on and off trains between the towns but did a magnificent job. Cosimo the driver was safe and excellent. We were lucky with the best possible weather.
