WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Cape Town Central
Our tour starts with a pick up at your accommodation in Cape Town and surrounding areas at 9:00am (flexible) on this private tour to Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins colony. We begin with a brief drive-by city orientation tour to see important monuments and building in the city centre.
2. Bo-kaap
From there we will stop in the Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay Quarter) for a photo opportunity with colorful houses, which carries great historical significance. You may even have a chance to greet some of the locals if they are in sight. Your tour guide will inform you about the colourful houses and their historical meaning.
3. Camps Bay
We take a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, passing through Three Anchor Bay, Bantry Bay, Clifton and stop in Camps Bay. Maiden's Cove is the perfect spot for you to create memories with spectacular photos as you marvel at the magnificent views of the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay beach. This cove is one of the best places in Cape Town to take panoramic photos of the Ocean, Camps Bay Beach combined with the views of Table Mountain, Lion's Head and the beautiful suburbs of Clifton, Camps Bay, etc... We call this the Kodak moment.
4. Seal Island
Should you choose to take the optional boat trip to Seal Island, the duration will be 45-minutes. This excursion is weather-permitting. Please take along a light jersey because the temperatures tend to drop when we are at sea.
5. Hout Bay
Travelling along the Atlantic scenic seaboard we will pass through Llandudno, famous for some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa, until we get to Hout Bay. Arrive at Hout Bay harbour, you will have the option to either take a 45-minute boat cruise to Seal Island to view the seals or you can do some shopping at the market.
6. Chapman's Peak Drive
Departing from Hout Bay, we drive along Chapman's Peak and stop at the viewpoint for spectacular photos. It is little wonder that Chapman's Peak is one of the most scenic routes in the world.
7. Noordhoek Farm Village
We continue our coastal journey with an optional stop in Noordhoek, with the breathtaking views of Noordhoek and Long Beach beneath us. Travelers will have the option to enjoy some of the best coffee brewed in Cape Town at the Village Roast for their own account.
8. Cape Point Vineyards Tasting Room
An optional stop for wine tasting at the exquisite Cape Point Vineyards will be offered. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards and views of the ocean in the distance, Cool breezes from the sea make for a slow-growing season, with a late harvest that results in a truly unique Sauvignon Blanc that is recognized across the globe for its rich minerality, structure, and tone. An optional sit-down lunch in their restaurant or a picnic lunch overlooking the man-made dam comes highly recommended.
9. Cape of Good Hope
We explore the Cape of Good Hope and take our iconic photo with the Cape of Good Hope name board. Here we will also explore the Dias & Vasco Da Gama monuments. There are also beautiful beaches that you will see along the way, as well as various fauna and flora.
10. Old Cape Point Lighthouse
From the Cape of Good Hope we will drive to Cape Point. Arriving at Cape Point we will have a choice between a 15-minute hike or take the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse. Here we will also explore the most south-western point of Africa, known as the Cape Point, where the cold Benguela from the Atlantic Ocean, meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean.
11. Boulders Beach Penguin Colony
Our next stop will be the Penguins colony in Boulders beach, where your guide will escort you to the viewing point to see some of the 2500 breeding pairs of African Penguins at close range. You may even find one or two of these enchanting creatures walking alongside you on the boardwalk.
12. Muizenberg Beach
Our return route is past Muizenberg where you will see the colored beach huts. The beach huts are used as changing rooms. These are reminiscent of the “bathing machine” of the 1800s, which was a cart-like structure that was wheeled down to the water’s edge, allowing the ladies to change into their bathing costumes.
13. Cape Town Central
Drop off will be back at guests' accommodation in Cape Town at approximately 18:00 pm.

Kagabo is a fantastic guide, it was such a good experience. I had opted for the private tour because that was the only one that had a start time of 9 am and given schedule constraints, I needed to fly in early that morning to have the full day free for the tour. I thought I’d have to wait a bit at the airport but he was there waiting on me when I arrived about an hour before the official start!

He was full of information and I really enjoyed learning from him and seeing incredible things all day: seals, penguins, the Cape of Good Hope, stunning views, etc. My only regret was that I didn’t have more time to do another tour. If (and when) I go back, I’d request him as a guide again. Overall, it was a very positive experience and a wonderful day.

As a party of eight with people with disabilities and elderly, the tour made it so easy for us to see all the major sights in the peninsula. Danson’s knowledge and passion is truly inspiring and a valuable add on to the trip. We had interesting conversations and he was super helpful and caring. It was a bit rushed but the scenery was breathtaking. We were grateful to have booked this tour and enriched our trip a lot. Without it, we would not be to visit all these places ourselves. Highly recommended especially if you are into history and ecology.

We absolutely loved our tour with Ruben! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and courteous and made the entire day fun for our entire family.

We were able to customize our itinerary somewhat and he was very accommodating and easy going. The entire day was filled with adventure and all the stops were entertaining, beautiful or both.

Our favorite locations were Boulders Beach (*the penguins where we walked down on the beach and were able to see them close up) and The Cale if Good Hope where we were able to see a family of ostriches and a troop of baboons in addition to the incredible sights.

On the way home Ruben even played trivia with our kids who loved him…even gave him a hug when he dropped us off.

Overall, we had a great time, felt safe the entire day and came away from the trip with an abundance of knowledge of the area.

Highly recommmed…especially if you request Ruben!

My husband and I booked this private tour and we had a wonderful time!!! Best decision. Kembo was our guide and he was on time for the pick-up, professional, super nice, and well informed. Talking to him was so easy and he answered all of our questions relating to history etc.

We enjoyed touring multiple destinations. We stopped at a couple of lookouts where the views were breathtaking. Chapmans Peak drive was so beautiful!. We also like the cute area where we stopped for coffee.

Book this private tour. You will not be disappointed. You get to see a lot in a short period of time without feeling rushed.
