Best day trip from Rome! Train to Naples then shuttle to Pompei. Great day, even when raining a bit, to see ruins. It can be slick, lots of steps and rock walkways but doable if you go slow. Then, lunch and wine tasting at the Medici winery. Lovely experience. Great food and wine. Can purchase to ship or take with. Back on the shuttle to the train for an hour ride back to Rome. Back by 6:30.

Train tickets were emailed to us the day prior. We were told to meet 30 minutes prior to the tour start time of 9:15. Meeting point in train terminal was east to find and the tour staff brought us to the proper train car where we had assigned seats.
Train was about an hour to Naples. We were instructed to meet the next tour staff member near the mermaid fountain by track 24 and she was also east to find. She remained our tour guide for the rest of the trip.
Upon leaving the group we were taken to the ruins by minibus and had about 2 hours in the ruins with our guide who spoke by headsets. She did a great job keeping people together and on time. While the ruins are massive and it would be impossible to see everything in a day, 2 hours felt like the right amount for us and our teens.
There was a short minibus ride to a lively Vinyard where we were give a brief tour, generous wine tasting, and light lunch of meats, cheese, and pasta.
There was a short bus ride back to the train station in Naples where we were directed onto the proper train back to Rome. Arrived in Rome around 18:20.
A great day for our family.

This is a bucket list item. I have been reading about Pompeii all my life. It was a treat to finally be there, and this was an excellent tour to make the most of the experience. Train travel from Rome was a plus; the wine-tasting lunch was superb. Carolina was an experienced and personable guide. This tour was a great choice, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Really enjoyed the tour. Antonio was our guide a lad he was fantastic. His knowledge and joy of sharing Pompeii was evident throughout out the tour. Ending the trip with lunch at the winery was a great way to end the tour.

The travel organisation was great, Take the train, has to beat 5+ hours on a bus each way as my friends did once. Pompeii was mind blowing and we had an excellent guide Felicia. The wine tasting and light lunch was nice as well.

Well organized. High end accommodations and personnel all the way. Guide was well informed and paced us well in a very crowded place. Of course it's high visitors season. Food and pourings at winery were very tasty. A little pushy to sell their product.

Awesome day. We were met at Termini station as planned. I think the instructions could be easier… just say Gate C instead of Platform 16. The sign for Platform 16 is not as obvious. EVERYTHING else was amazing. Our tour coordinator at Termini was very helpful. And our guide, CHIARA, was superb. Very energetic. Spoke great English. Very enthusiastic. The lunch and wine experience was very nice. The high speed train service makes this trip very comfortable in a single day. Buzzing along at 190mph gets you to Napoli in just over an hour. Great day.

Without the archeological Pompeii site would be very confusing. Our guide - Carla - brought the city to life! Carla has an easy listening voice and she was able to keep our group of 20 entertained and will ordered.
The wine tasting event following the tour was spectacular! Winery catering staff were well informed, helpful and full of information. The food accompanying the wine varieties was excellent! Five⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️in every aspect!

We had a very nice day on this tour. We took the Frecciarossa train from Termini to Napoli and back. Business class on the way down. Standard class on the way back. It was easy to find the tour guides at Termini.
Once in Pompeii, which is a much bigger city than I imagined, our guide Carla was a fountain of information. The whole day was fascinating and educational. Wear comfortable shoes for walking on the stony streets of Pompeii.
Bosco de Medici wine tasting: lovely, parkland property right in the middle of a city near Pompeii. Good selection of wines (sparkling, rosé, white, red). Should be something for everyone. Nice snack to accompany the drinks (cheese/meat board + bowl of pasta + dessert). Limoncello to close.
